So I buy this pristine 2014 3LT 2 months ago, wouldn't you know just my luck, the leather on the dash starts lifting. I can't believe someone hasn't come up with an overlay since this is such a common problem. I'm already regretting getting into a C7. Should have stayed old school.
It is confounding when GM doesn't pay proper attention to lingering issues on a flagship car. Perhaps yours is early enough to be addressed by an upholstery shop with glue injection. I would feel the same as you with this happening so early in ownership. I had to smile when I saw overlay because it reminded me of the 80's and 90's when people would put those carpeted dash pads over cracked dashboards. I saw them a lot on Firebirds, Camaros, and C10 pickups back in the day.

It's barely visible in the pic for what it's worth
True; but if I was sitting in the driver's seat, I'd see it in front of me all the time, and wouldn't be able to get it out of my mind. I'd be upset, knowing that it will only get worse.
I have an appointment at the local chevy dealer for a repair estimate. I have talked to every custom auto interior shop in the area save one that won't open till Monday. None of them will work on a modern dash, no explanation why. There is one more place that does total restorations, I'll talk to them Monday. . Anyway, with nothing to lose, I took an iron , set on medium, with a cloth underneath and applied a lot of pressure. Not much change, so I took a hair dryer set on low and massaged the divots as best I could. The result is below, not perfect, if the repair is more than $2k I'll skip it and sell as is. With a 6 year transferrable warranty, I should be able to get at least what I paid for it.
I know it is easy to say since I am not in your shoes, but it would be hard to give up on the car from one experience. Everything else with the car checks all boxes for you. I feel for you and would be very frustrated. Don't be surprised if the dealer says they can only replace it with a new 3LT dash.
I am **** about car care since it reflects on me and how I care for things. While it is a factory fail, I would still be embarrassed if a passenger pointed it out.
Yes and so am I. I have driven Corvettes since I came home in 69, they just aren't the car they used to be, Corvettes were special, built with pride. When you drove into a dealership in a Corvette you got the best of the best, now they're just another Chevy. I'll give the car credit, it's gorgeous, comfortable and performs very well, now that I have the MGW shifter, soler throttle body and clutch pedal extender it's an absolute pleasure to drive. But the cheapness of it turns me off. I have the interior carbon fiber group, it's called out on the window sticker. It is nothing more than some add ons stuck on with 3Mm tape. The ones on the rev match paddles continue to fall off, the one around the interior of the steering wheel is loose. I switched out the brake pads because of the excessive brake dust. I know I'm coming off sounding like an old man with "things aren't the way they used to be" syndrome, in the case of the Corvette, thats exactly the way I feel. Just my opinion.
Sell it and get a 2LT? Zero issues in 9 years with mine. On the other hand at least your wheels won't crack. Sorry not trying to be a smart *** but these forums are littered with posts with this issue.

I agree with much of what your saying but note the OEM CF dash is real CF.
My 3LT the dash is great but the tan leather piece above the left arm rest has slack. I am going to see how the arm rest attaches and see if I can take up the slack and retighten. I forgot to take a pic….
