I hear you about losing glasses. It's so hard to look for them when you can't see.

Since you were in a hurry, you probably didn't wander around the house. It has to be near the door where you entered.

unfortunately I am still searching for the fob. backdoor has a two sided keyed deadbolt - so I know I had to lock the door from the inside - why I believe it has to be in the house somewhere Somewhere safe so no one can find it, including me.......

Did you check the garage and house area near the deadbolt? Could it have been dropped and kicked aside under something?

Found a missing nylabone a cat nip mouse of few old dog biscuits and dog hair but no fob yet

did lock the car and tired to open the door a while later - no luck so i am assuming that rules out fob in the garage

But driving me crazy as my good flashlight I use for searching for things like fobs has vanished

Absolutely NOT. Range is not that good for obvious reasons.

I had a FOB on another vehicle somehow stay on the trucklid fo rabout a mile going 35 MPH then go thru a carwash. When I turned off the car to dry it, it said "keyfob not detected"! After brainstorming and searching around, I asked the carwash guy if he could check inside it. The SECOND time he looked, he found it on the concrete inside the carwash!!! It somehow survived over an hour of washes AND didn't get run over. Craziest story I love to retell!!!

Tell your wife or girlfriend, "I'll give you $200 if you find my key fob." Better yet, tell that to both of them. Could save paying the same amount for a replacement fob.
You've tried, maybe a different person can find it. When it's found, and it probably will, put it on a colored lanyard to make it less likely to disappear. Good luck.
