unfortunately I am still searching for the fob. backdoor has a two sided keyed deadbolt - so I know I had to lock the door from the inside - why I believe it has to be in the house somewhere Somewhere safe so no one can find it, including me.......
Just to let you know, my fob was in the washing machine for about 5 minutes before I realized what happened. I retrived the fob and it worked! I've had no troubles and it's been several years.
I had a FOB on another vehicle somehow stay on the trucklid fo rabout a mile going 35 MPH then go thru a carwash. When I turned off the car to dry it, it said "keyfob not detected"! After brainstorming and searching around, I asked the carwash guy if he could check inside it. The SECOND time he looked, he found it on the concrete inside the carwash!!! It somehow survived over an hour of washes AND didn't get run over. Craziest story I love to retell!!!
Tell your wife or girlfriend, "I'll give you $200 if you find my key fob." Better yet, tell that to both of them. Could save paying the same amount for a replacement fob.
You've tried, maybe a different person can find it. When it's found, and it probably will, put it on a colored lanyard to make it less likely to disappear. Good luck.
