I have a 2016 2LT Stingray with A8 transmission. I very seldom drive in Manual mode....but when I do the "icon" in the lower right of the tachometer indicates which gear I am in with a large numeral...I like that. However when in DRIVE mode the same "icon" just displays a large D. I can also see a gear number in the upper left which displays current gear in DRIVE mode. Old man here having to focus too much to easily read the small gear display. Same with the HUD. Can I "change" something to display the gear in a larger numeral in the icon next to the tach?? I can't find anything in the user manual regarding this.
Also, what is the button next to "open Hatch" button on lower left of the dash. It just has "OFF" next to it. What is it powering off?
i have an M7...so always in manual mode so to speak, and the current gear is always displayed. I didn't realize that the A8 provided the same information in manual mode.
I can't help you with the gear indicator since I have a manual, but the off button turns off the interior motion alarm. Here is an old thread discussing it.
The Off button is absolutely for the interior motion alarm.
If you want to really find out what it does, shut off the car, exit with the Fob and leave you wife in the car. The alarm isn't the only thing that goes off!!!
