Default Soler Performance Throttle Controller - Do it!

For those on the fence like I was for a long time, don’t hesitate, do it, My Vette drives like a different car. Love this device! Infinitely adjustable, easy install (less than 30 minutes- and I went slowly) and it totally changed the responsiveness of the throttle, eliminating the dead zone or dead pedal feel and, to my surprise, virtually eliminating the lag that I thought was inherent in this auto transmission. Car is much smoother and even more fun to drive!

Now I know the throttle controller alone does not change the engine performance, but the response (and smoothness) is totally different and 1000% improved. It’s not just a matter of how far down you press the pedal as some naysayers contend. Wish I had bought this a long time ago!

Absolutely. I haven't seen posts from them regarding this in a while, but there are couple of Forum members who have consistently denigrated the Soler TC because it 'only' makes the car 'feel' faster, without adding any HP.

That's fine, because that's what Soler says it will do, and that's what it does.

I shouldn't have waited as long as I did. Live and learn.

I have to laugh. For every person who loves theirs, there’s another person who says “ I don’t need something like that.

Have been impressed with the controller on my C7. One of the best mods I have done.

I've had mine for a year and just installed it today. Not sure why I waited, but glad I have it installed now. I also like how you can "lock" the throttle when the vehicle is parked.

Totally agree. I have had three, albeit some from different Mfg's, (Soler, Vitesse, Pedal commander). Its not about adding HP it's about "response" and expectations of what 'pushing the gas pedal gets you.

Example, I have a Pedal commander on my Toyota Tacoma, which has a laggy pedal and deep dead spot in the pedal. Totally changed response and removed the dead spot, I actually feel safer in the truck because I know how it's going to react, and on time when I expect it.

Saying a controller doesn't add HP therefore doesn't really do anything is like saying a loose guitar string still produces a sound, why would you tighten it?

Maybe, the previous owner had the car tuned. He did a lot of extras on the car. I have not felt the problems others have mentioned. I do keep the "R's" up.

I have a 2016 Stingray, Z51, 3LT Convertible.

I have to admit, with the increasing thefts of high end cars, the idea of being able to shut-off the gas does intrigue me.

I have a 2016 Stingray, Z51, 3LT Convertible. Is this what I need, or is more required

Yep; that's the one that lets you put the car into snail mode.

I've been telling guys to do this for a long time. Some older guy said, what do I need that for, I'll just mash the gas pedal harder. He clearly has no idea what this thing does or why it does it. Ignorance is bliss I guess. When I got the car I drove it home about 1000 miles. I hated how the gas pedal felt, my C6 felt much better. I had not driven a C7 before buying it, so I had no idea how it drove, but my family has always had Corvette since the C4 so I figured it was similar. It was not and it was disappointing. I got on these forums and saw guys talking about the Soler throttle body and controller. I got the controller and WOW, what a difference. Then I got the throttle body and that was a game changer also. IMO the C6 is still more fun to drive. I also assume as I haven't driven one, the C8 is even less raw feeling than the C7. If it is, I wouldn't even want one. With every new generation the Corvette gets less fun to drive. Of course this is my opinion. You drive a C6 , the car feels powerful, you don't get that same feeling from the C7. I'm assuming it has to do with the suspension and the stiffness of the frame.
Moral of the story.. Absolutely get a soler Throttle body and controller.. It transforms the car. Should be the 1st 2 mods you do above anything else.

I agree with everyone in the thread. I have an automatic 2014 and I hated the dead spot and the exhaust quiet down. Soler, Range, and a pulled NPP fuse saved the day for me and made this the car I wanted it to be ... until I modified it more. lol

I drive with it set to:

Installed mine today. Easy. Also had it sitting around for months. LOVE It. I set it to sport 5 because that has been mentioned a lot in other threads. Then sport 9 and then Ludicrous. They all feel so much better. I settled on sport 7 and will drive it like this for a while. Love the lock setting. I may look into this for my Tahoe.

Default Soler Throttle Controller - Do It

Received controller , installed yesterday. After a couple of short drives, wished I would have purchased one long time ago ! Have not gone over Sport 6 yet. After spending a couple of hours washing and detailing this morning, no chance of rain, getting ready for long drive, RAIN. Go figure. Love the pedal lockout option. Super easy install. As the title reads - DO IT. You will not be disappointed.

I have a Sprint Booster throttle controller (does the same thing as the Soler) on my 2016 Z51 A8 which is supercharged at ~ 800 HP. I have always loved the improved throttle response since getting this device. It is easy to turn it on and off to really evaluate what it is doing. Even with the extra power, the throttle controller adds a significant improvement to the responsiveness of the car. Having gone through this with my Corvette, I added a Sprint Booster to my 2019 Tacoma Offroad M6 which is also supercharged, and a GOPedal to my 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio which is a twin turbo V6 with an A8. With all three vehicles, the throttle controllers make a huge different in the the responsiveness of the car.
