They did in fact preserve my wheels until I finally made a decision on the forged solution... about 5 years later... and agreed, they were quieter and smoother... and better in wet weather. But I still like the Michelins more... it's good to have choices.

I guess "... [performing] way better than the Michelins" would have to depend on your criteria. There was some serious engineering work put in on the specifications and subsequent selection of the OEM Michelins our cars came equipped with... of course I'm no longer running that exact spec. The Michelins are noticeabley improved in lateral grip under acceleration, straight line traction under boost and just feel far more precise to me than the Continentals did. The Continentals served me well though.
