There are a few round-a-bouts here, but the traffic congestion engineers love 10 minute stop lights that cause backups miles long instead.
I thought AI would be a prime use in traffic lights, to keep traffic flowing and to maximize traffic going through an intersections rather than sitting for 10 minutes while no one goes through the intersection at all. But nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Anyone who can't adjust to a roundabout within a week should have their drivers license suspended. So much better than traffic lights or the favorite around here, 4 way stop signs. I got a little too aggressive driving rental cars clipping apexes in Paris and had to park and go back and hunt for the hubcaps that flew off. If you are going straight through at a roundabout with a small center island you can almost straight line it. Some of those inside curbs can be a little rough.

Roundabouts do not work at rush hour with (2) very busy intersecting roads.
They turn it into a train of cars flowing from one entrance while the others wait, cloggy everything down stream and sending a conga line onto the onramps to an interstate
Plus the bad drivers feel round abouts are a yield sign and stop every time even when there is no traffic
At least guys in Challengers and Mustangs have fun. Seems like if you do anything with a Vette other than putting around from car show to show, guys get upset. Just look at some of the replies lol.
Exactly! Too many "Kevin's and Corvette Karen's" on this forum. Geez, relax and have some fun. No one is going to be drifting their car into a curb or running into you so you can sue them, lol. I've been spiritually riding Sport bikes and driving cars for over 40 years and never gotten a speeding ticket or been involved in an accident. I say, stay under control as any normal person would and max out that g-force meter on those round-abouts!
People drive sportscars in a sporting way.
Does that make you want to cry? Want to make up some more laws to try and outlaw fun as much as possible?
It'll be ok.
Sadly its attitudes like that that give us all a bad name. Unfortunately you won't learn until you're involved in a wreck or a close family member or friend gets hit by a wreckless, careless driver.

Besides, I've thrown HC Challengers around hard, and they'll surprise you at how nimble they can be for their size.
Tell that to the woman's family that was just killed, run over on the sidewalk from a couple of cars drag-racing. A Challenger, the car that killed her, and a Mustang. There have been over 5 fatal events involving Dodge and Plymouth 'muscle' cars. They drive them like they do on the commercials. I would have my attorney suing the mfg for million$
Some of those roundabouts seem like they were designed by a mad scientist
I particularly like the ones that are created with too small a diameter so that Semi’s have trouble getting around them. The ones that are two lane and too small are especially fun since a Semi will encroach on your lane.

I think there is a case of complicity when they advertise the cars to be driven recklessly on the public roads. Just like cigarette advertising. If someone killed one of my loved ones with one of these vehicles driving recklessly, I would fight everyone involved to the end.

I had a 1970 Challenger in 76. 383 4-speed, Hurst pistol grip. Engine was rebuilt by a man that did racing boat engines 12.5-1 pistons, big cam, Man did that car sound and run good.
We used to race at the drag strip, Edgewater and another one up north. On the rare occasion that we did drag on the street it would be way out in the boonies with nothing but corn fields on either side, and someone would be at both ends blocking or checking for cars. We did not risk the lives or damage of other cars or pedestrians.
I am not against having fun, I am just against someone hurting my wife who is in her 70's now and drives at the speed limit, which is a risk in itself. There are places to do it safely.
We have plenty of roundabouts around here. Unfortunately, they all have speed humps leading into them, so you have to approach them very slowly, and with my Z06, sometimes at an angle. There is one new roundabout in particular that I will not even attempt to enter, because the speed humps are extremely high, and I know my front spoiler will scrape and get damaged.
I don't mind the mild speed hump roundabouts, but am hoping that after thousands of cars and trucks go over the new one, that the speed humps get worn down enough that I can use it!

I wonder why they felt the need to install speed humps? A few are able to ruin it for all of us.
I love me a well designed roundabout. They are becoming much more numerous in my area. They are safter and alleviate traffic congestion. The worst part about them is the people who don't know how to drive and then complain about them to whoever will listen. When you hear someone complain about roundabouts, it's just an admission of being a bad driver. I've never come gone through a roundabout and thought "I really wish that had been a stop light instead".
I love a good round-about as well, but not all are created equal........They are a new thing here, at least 6 in the past year. I don't understand those that DON'T know how to navigate one Have you ever driving around a downtown square??? It's the same damn thing, just on a smaller scale..........Yield mean just that, YIELD!! Not come to a completed stop and sit there
Sorry, off my soapbox........If a round-about is clear of all traffic, I don't see someone walking their dog around it, I admit I will go into F1 driving mode in the Vette
