The traffic circles in my area are popping up everywhere. I never gave them much thought until I started driving my C7, now I seek them out!
I set my G-meter, and do my best to max it out. It's a blast !!One of these days I'm gonna deactivate Traction Control and try and drift all the way around it! Responsibly of course! LoLoLoL
There's only one decent size rotary near me, but when nobody is around, it certainly is fun to throw cars into it at decent speed.
Never saw one here until a few years ago but now they are spreading like wildfire. I'm not a big fan as most people don't really know who has the right of way, and they become bottlenecks.
My European friends & family have been used to them for generations, but it's not that easy if you have never been exposed to them.
Does it take a near miss or "accident" for some to understand that we have tracks for racing and drifting?
Hopefully the OP doesn't wreck and injure someone or themselves.
I drove over 1000 miles in England many moons ago. Nothing but roundabouts. Not 1 light. I wish it was like that here. I agree there is learning curve for some people, but they are getting used to them. In Carmel Indiana they have only roundabouts, over 100 of them, it is great.
They are definitely fun in a Honda S2000. I take them slower in the C7, but it is all fun, especially when you are being tailgated. Obviously, it is fun at the right time for things like that.
I love me a well designed roundabout. They are becoming much more numerous in my area. They are safter and alleviate traffic congestion. The worst part about them is the people who don't know how to drive and then complain about them to whoever will listen. When you hear someone complain about roundabouts, it's just an admission of being a bad driver. I've never come gone through a roundabout and thought "I really wish that had been a stop light instead".

Everytime you post stuff like this here, it will backfire on you. You’re going to drift it right into a curb. Pro drivers don’t even drift where there are curbs, especially when there practicing. Good luck, Hit me and ill sue.
You should think twice about turning off the traction control. A while back I was showing off to a friend of mine. We were in my Maserati, turned off traction control, went around a corner in a residential area, lost control, ended up in the other lane, backwards. Do it in an open area, get used to it.
At least guys in Challengers and Mustangs have fun. Seems like if you do anything with a Vette other than putting around from car show to show, guys get upset. Just look at some of the replies lol
Besides, I've thrown HC Challengers around hard, and they'll surprise you at how nimble they can be for their size.
Well, it seems like roundabouts (or, as we call 'em here in New Yawk, "Soicles" ) are the wave of the future. The politicians are currently hell-bent to convert every intersection of any size to them here in Central NY. While they can be an improvement over signallized intersections as far as traffic flow is concerned, that's only true if people understand how they work - and the learning curve appears to be pretty steep at this point. LOTS of fender-benders, fist-waving and Mexican standoffs. I'm sure that will improve in time, but what will definitely NOT improve is something musicnvettes alluded to . . . watching 18-wheelers try to negotiate these things calls for some lawn chairs and a case of beer. Make sure you sit well back, though - the circles they are building are CLEARLY nowhere big enough to accommodate truck traffic. It's a recipe for disaster that they need to address in the design process. As with most things, if they invest the time, do the research and get it right, it will work and be an improvement. If they don't. it won't.
As for drifting around them, I will freely admit that when I'm in my C7 I have given it a thought - but the neighborhoods, roads and traffic where ours are are not conducive to this. I'll save my high-performance driving for track days.

People drive sportscars in a sporting way.
Does that make you want to cry? Want to make up some more laws to try and outlaw fun as much as possible?
It'll be ok.
