Just picked up a 2019 Stingray manufactured in Jan 2019 with 26k on the clock. According to what I've read, this means it should have the triple flush on the transmission. I haven't noticed a shudder and have installed an AFM disabler. It is out of warranty. Should I still have the triple flush done? I contacted the local dealer who serviced the car by the PO and verified no triple flush was done.
It is an A8 automatic. Are you saying GM upgraded the AFM making the triple flush no longer necessary?
The triple flush has nothing to do with AFM. Earlier models were using a poor choice of ATF fluid that was retaining moisture, causing crappy shifts and shutters, mainly effecting the torque converter.
The date of manufacture on the transmission needs to be February 2019 for it to have the new, upgraded fluid. Ask the dealer to run a complete VIS report to verify if the triple flush has been done or not. If not, bite the bullet and have it done.
Yep, regardless, I would change the fluid. You never know what kind of monkey juice someone else put in your car. My, new to me, 2014 I changed all the fluids to current, required OEM GM fluids. Just be sure you are not the one that uses some odd fluids.
GM upgraded the fluid. AFM is same garbage on all C7s.
according to what I’m reading
“GM updated the C7 Corvette transmission fluid to a new formulation (Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF for the 8-speed automatic transmission around February or March 2019 to address the torque converter "shudder" issue. While earlier 2019 models still used the old fluid, vehicles produced after this timeframe were filled with the new, improved fluid at the factory.”

Exactly. If the car was built in January 2019, and no triple flush has been done, then yes, you need to have it done.

mine has a mfg date of 01/19.
So you don't have the new fluid. I don't believe GM will goodwill that to you since it is probably going to be north of $1000. My suggestion is to get the procedure and tell the appointment clerk what you want and negotiate what date to do the job with their Corvette certified tech and NOT Mr Luck of the Draw. IOW, find the right tech first. If it is under $1000, you probably won't be getting the triple pan drop.
I would seriously think about getting the GM Platinum Extended Warranty, and see if they would give you a serious discount on the Triple Tranny Flush. Check out a few dealerships to see if you get a bite.
If you are not having the shutter issue there is no need to spend the money and as far as warranty is concerned most dealers do not apply it for the triple flush because it was not a recall, simply a tech bulletin. Not ever A8 had the issue.

To some degree, yes, but all of the fluids should be changed irregardless. Depends on time/mileage.
