And the scary part is the little "hidden" compartment is also not locked, which is where my pistol is kept. I about passed out when I'm thinking how many places my car has been just sitting there unlocked....
so from what I'm gathering (and correct me if I'm wrong) is that there is no way to set the car to lock and unlock by itself and honk/blink lights passively. that you actually have to push the FOB's lock button?
The "compartment" will stay locked if you enable the valet mode. It will also keep the glove compartment locked. This is in the manual somewhere.
OK, I finally got the passive locks to work just like the C6. You need to get to the vehicle personalization settings and get to the passive lock features. It's there, you just need to poke around for it.

Bingo Turbo gets the cookie! he's absolutely corrrect. I was concentrating on just the power door lock menu and didn't notice the just below there is another directory like "remote lock" or something and sure enough my default setting was "off" I turned it on and now when I walk about 10 ft i get a honk and lights flash. my love hate relationship for this car is getting better. haha.
also Garcia nailed it. I shut off engine then pressed and held the button and system seems to really come alive. so thanks for that.
this is on another thread but you guys might like to know this as well. i was really aggravated that my bluetooth did not connect quick enough. don't know about you all, but i get in, start car and within seconds of seats adjusting I'm pulling out of garage and once you start moving the screen will not let you mess with bluetooth, however i have a galaxy s2 (i know....a boat anchor) but i found that if you make the phone connect, it will do it while driving. which is an awesome feature as i missed all calls from C6 with super loud exhaust i never heard or felt vibration.
sorry for rambling. i get a bit mouthy.
and thanks for all you other guys that i didn't mention for your advice/support
