I've been mulling this over, but our municipalities don't ever use it (even MO Highway Patrol). I'd much rather have a Ka-band jammer, but would rather not do time...
Did you really get hit with Lidar or just K/Ka? If so, the high power 2-unit front kit would work wonders for you. If it was K/Ka, you won't get any help from these (obviously). I think they're about $1400, while the normal ones are around $600. I looked into it a few months back - you would need to mount them on the lop of one of the grill louvers (unless you run a front plate). The difficult part would be the wiring into the cabin for the control unit, but pulling power and ground isn't very hard.
Several posts have been made about the grommet into the cabin, etc. I can re-post pics here if you'd like.
Also, keep in mind that the wider apart they are, the better they will protect you. The highest power ones will almost always JTG.
thanks for the reply. i was hit by radar, not sure which band(ticket just says radar) as i didn't have a detector(one is on the way) I know it wouldn't have helped in this case but along my hour and a half drive they run a lot of laser. I figured with the shiny new car it won't get any better as summer starts to arrive so i figured i would start looking at options. i will take any pics you can privide. i dont run a front plate but we are supposed to, i could install it if you think that would help with mounting. thanks again for your input.
No problem - I just thought I'd jump in since it was a serious consideration. I just decided that since none of the jurisdictions I drive in use them, it would be a waste of money.
I noticed you said you had one on the way - I'm a big van of V1s, and have them in every car. The arrows are just a preference, but they usually keep me safe.
If you're not running a front plate (I don't either), they will aim for the headlights. That's another reason why you'd want them spread across the grille - you want to put them where they'll be aiming for. Sadly, if you **** them off with a JTG, they'll just pull you over for no front plate.
Also what color is your car? Some colors are a lot easier to lock onto than others. We're all fairly low to the ground, so color is really the only reason you would need to spend the extra cash on the high-powered devices.
I'm running a K40 360i concealed radar system with dual laser diffusers up front and a single diffuser in the rear. While they are not the "interceptor" brand, they are virtually identical and serve the same purpose. I've used K40 for years and have had nothing but great experience with their products. That said, this was priceless insurance for my C7.
after all the research and reading i could handle i also went with the V1. ohio has the pesky drones so that will be something i need to sort out on the programming but i read numerous good results with the V1 so i went with it.
I have the Lime Rock Green, i spoke with someone at LI a few minutes ago and he thought i would be fine with the standard power just get quad's for the rear as well.

The best most sensitive installed radar detector is the Beltronics STiR+. It us much more sensitive and has much longer range than all other installed radar detectors. For windshield mount radar detectors the Escort Redline offers the greatest range followed by the V1. For all three of these radar detectors the user must properly program their settings. You can't just take them out of the box and start using them.
As far as laser jammers are concerned the AntiLaser Priority is the best performing laser jammer. Because it has double the laser receiving diodes compared to the LaserInterceptor the AL Priority is more sensitive. It also jams three laser guns that the laser interceptor currently does not jam.
I installed the AL Priority system in my C7. I wired it into my cabin because I used a rear sensor. You don't need to wire it into cabin if you buy the Blue tooth module which I use and its great. It's marketed as a parking sensor which works and after getting system you have to download the program you want for Laser defense
The sensors are very small
You can see the 2 sensors on both sides of plate at top of grill, the left one is highlighted by the sun, the right one is not highlighted and is the true way they look, you see them only when you look closely. The things you see at the middle of grill with holes are dear whistles.
rear sensor just above plate left side
