As others have said, supercharge it, have your fun, and when you're done, sell it privately. If you're not handy with a wrench, taking the parts off and restoring it to stock, means you have to pay the installer going in and out when installing or removing parts, re tuning etc. If you don't want to go thru all that hassle and the budget will allow, just sit tight for now ( not easy I realize being a vette junkie) and trade it in when the new Z06 becomes available. If you do go ahead with supercharging, don't expect to get anything back for the added expense, if you sell the car with the supercharger. It will also be harder to sell as the buyer pool is much smaller. Now that the C7 Z06 is coming to market, available in all flavors, the need to supercharge one's C7 for a fun street ride, drops dramatically.

Depends on the car. If you install a beautiful supercharger kit and keep the miles low on the car and keep it clean top to bottom, the car may be worth a little more than stock.

If you drive the car and don't keep it spotless, expect no increase in value, maybe even a loss.

Either way you will be ahead of the game if you remove the supercharger kit and put it to stock when you go to sell.

Fortunately the supercharger install on a C7 is easier than C5 or C6. My first install took 15 hours with headers, I'd expect considerably less next time around.

If, however, you want to move to the C7Z (which from our PMs I don't think will happen ), then short-term power adders should always be removed to increase resale to a dealer.

Trickier mods like camshafts are usually left in the car, since the price is so high to remove them in the case of the C7. You would just need to be careful to choose a mild/stealth cam to be able to run on the factory calibration (if possible).

At the end of the day, though, the blower kits don't leave too much of a trace behind, especially if you have the original panels. Procharger gives you everything to keep all of your factory parts, and the others would require you to purchase 1-2 parts to get everything back to 100% stock.

Internal engine modifications are far harder to come back from.
Actually there's plenty of stock C5Z's out there, I just bought one over the winter and was shopping around a while, its just that people w/ performance in mind who lurk on forums like you and I start to get brainwashed into thinking "most" people mod their cars, fact is MOST do not.

That being said, a low mileage clean stock example will pull WAY more money. For an exact comparison of what the OP is asking about, I paid $24,500 for my 12900 mile '03 Z - it was listed at $28,900, I looked at other low mileage stock ones but this one was the color I wanted and close. I looked at a cammed/bolted car w/ 30k on it they had it listed for $18,999.

I would, however, be much more apt to buy a used SC car over a turbo or cammed car. SC is basically a bolt on and can be tuned relatively tamely and requires little maintenance/tinkering/upkeep. A cammed car requires regular maintenance to be running correctly and if not tuned right or the right combo of parts can be a real nightmare, plus may not pass emissions, and a turbo car can be a rats nest of custom pipe and crap work.

So - I guess my point is the BEST route would be to find a buyer looking for a SC car, or to remove the parts sell on here or ebay and return to stock. Supercharger would be the "best" mod in terms of sellability though...good luck trading a cammed car into a dealer....
