I just came back from a 1,200 mile mileage test of the C7 Z51.
I put 500 miles on the car to get it mostly past break in before the test.
I ran the car at speed limits in 100 mile tests.
Result, 27.4 average highway mileage.
Result did not vary much in any mode.
Eco mode was not the best millage mode.
Best 100 miles was 30.2 MPG.
Worst was 26.4 against a head wind.
Test was over mostly flat ground from Wisconsin to Kentucky and back.

Manual trans. most all of trip in 7th gear cruse control on.
Your milage will improve greatly with more miles on the car. After about 1700 miles on the odometer, my MPG really started increasing substantially. At 2000 miles I was able to average over 30MPG where as on the same road I was seeing nearly 10% less not 500 miles sooner. I've compared 4 cylinders vs 8 cylinders in other modes and Eco does make a difference of at least 1-2MPG in cruise at 65-75MPH assuming you are able to hold 4 cylinder mode with cruise control on. I'm at about 2500 miles on the car now and MPG is still improving over the same stretch of highway that I travel every day.

I too have a Z51 7 Speed.
Thanks, I will watch that over the next 2000 miles. I drove at 4 miles per hour over speed limit, generally at 69 except in Illinois where limit went to 70. There I did 74. Maybe there is a richer mixture on the injectors until x miles are driven, or the engine and trans seat well and reduce friction, or both?
+
I did a 750 mile trip, ave 31.9 for the whole trip and the last 350 ave 34.0
1LT 7-spd, cruise set at 7-8 over limit...72 or 78 MPH
First leg of trip was ECO
Best 50 was 38.1
I had my cruse on the entire time of each 100 mile test, so that should have helped a bit. I will do it again after break in is over and see what I get. I am hoping to see a somewhat steady 30+ in steady flat conditions. I see a lot of people are already there. I will run a new test to KY again next time I go.
Thanks to all,
Nick
But, that's not why we install superchargers, is it?
In all seriousness, I did a 50-mile test yesterday in Sport with valves wide open in a mix of 5th-7th and got 26mpg. (And I'm running rich) So that's not bad at all.

I’d guess you were closed loop just cruising around, so how did you wind up rich?
