Default Numerous Problems with the C7

I have 2014 Corvette Z51.

There are numerous problems with the car.

1. Grinding when shifting from first to second.

2. Control Climate DOES NOT WORK.
a. A/C on set to 68 degrees and hot air comes out the drivers lower vent.
b. Set temp to 78 degrees, outside is 50 degrees and cold air comes out the top vent.
c. One minute the temp is okay inside then it is either to cold or to hot.
d. And there is more.

3. The settings either for the heads-up, dash, ride control changes every so often on its own. Not while running. Park the car turn the car off, go back to the car start it up and things are changed.

4. Sometimes you get into the car and the radio does not work. Turn the car off and back on then it will work.

5. Sometimes the volume control on the steering wheel does not work.

6. Sometime the control on the steering wheel to change the radio stations will not work.

In my opinion the car has major programing issues.

Is anyone else having these type of problems?

Except for #1 I would guess you have a bad ground somewhere on the car.

Could be as simple as a loose bolt holding down a ground wire. Most oddball electrical problems are related to poor grounds.

Is #1 only when cold? My trans is notchy/grinds a bit when cold, it really needs to warm up but once warm its very smooth.

The grinding is not as bad when it is warm, but still does it. I have to pause during the shift so it will not grind.

I've noticed my HUD losing the view I set it on a couple of times but that is it. Everything else in my car has worked flawlessly.

I also get a bit of grinding into 2nd but only when it is cold and it has gotten notably better with mileage.

I'd take it to the dealer.

For the grinding, are you taking into account the 1 - 4 skip shift?

Yes, I am taking the 1-4 shift into account.

Is there a ground map for the car?

All a person on the line needs to do is not tighten the ground screw down and the whole car falls apart.

Usually between 5 and 8 central ground points. Of course being brand new it could also be a bad harness somewhere, it is mass produced.

Good question.

I am meeting a GM Engineer at the dealer next week.

Hopefully they come up with something.

Been dealing with all these problems for months and no progress.

6023 is an early Vin. You are due for software updates. That is to say that your AC and display issues are likely fixed in newer updates. You shifting issue is likely a non issue and the result of your car being colder than you think it is or your shifting technique.

Exactly the same issue as my departed '12 GS. That grinding would eventually wear the synchro out. It's a POS design that when cold it's out of whack, then as it heats up gets aligned properly. Mine shifted beautifully when hot, but took a long time in winter, due to being at the back, with no engine heat to help. So you could allow a dealer to dismantle your new car (it's a MAJOR job to remove the tranny), and would probably have the same issue when done. That's why I didn't even think of getting it done on my car. Everybody said it was normal, but I never bought it. To avoid any long-term issues, I simply paused my shifts too, and avoided any grind. But that didn't make it right. Definitely don't want another tranny like that. Please keep us posted what your resolution is, and good luck.
