I'm going to hold out to see if there is a group buy... perhaps this buzz turns into something.

Are these hand ported or done on a CNC machine like VMAX was doing for the C6?

Horsepower aside... one of those actually does something while the other does not...

But I got the 'joke'.

I am in on the group buy as well, please!!! Ben, what do you think of the AFE cold air intake? Would you expect it to work well with your ported TB? I love Halltech and ran it on my Z, but my mod fund is running thin so looking for best bang for the buck right now.

Seems like the AFE intake + WeaponX ported TB + Diablo tune is turning into the hot setup for basic bolt-on C7's

Received mine today Ben. Changed it out in 15 minutes and that's only because I kept dropping my damn socket it is so humid here B-More.

Sounds good. Feels better. I don't know how much more power it brings by the seat of my pants, but it damn sure responds better than before.

Glad you're happy with it bro! Not sure you'll feel 10-12hp diff across the RPM band, but I took Blake from Big Dog Performance for a ride before we pulled the motor after it had the Halltech and TB on and he was pretty surprised at how hard the car pulled after!

Hi Ben,
I just place an order for the TB last Friday. If there is a group buy, would you consider giving the same group buy price?

Think AFM and the required seamless transition from 8 cylinder to 4 cylinder mode, just like the extra butterfly valves in exhaust for an expectable sound (resonance level)… BTW not much different than ZR1 (LS9) TB, except for feedback is contactless…

So why on earth with the hundreds of competent and talented engineers that GM employs would they add unnecessary complexity and cost to simply add additional restriction (throttling losses - costs efficiency) to intake? Guess they are clueless.

Oh you forgot to ask how much of gain was tune?
Because they're building a mass produced vehicle that has to meet emissions and fuel mileage standards set by the EPA. It also has to reliably and consistently generate the power and mileage numbers without risk of failure. They're aware that the majority of Corvette owners will never open the car up and want it to drive like a prius without having to worry about managing the power or being difficult to drive. Base cars are always limited in performance factors because they're built for the masses not the performance purist. The primary purpose of the lip in the TB was to make sure the car met emissions and fuel economy standards while being manageable to drive for the average person. And for the record...Engineers are controlled by bean counters because there's a budget the car has to stay under in order to sell them to the masses at a reasonable price. If they had their way every Corvette that rolled off the assembly line would be a 1000+ hp track ready race car.

Awesome post.

The part bolded is a a major point as well. People scold GM for bean-counting on this car, but I have to say that in some instance I understand why they do it and as a CEO/Owner, sympathize as well.

It didn't stop them from putting out a marvel of a car, with a 460HP baseline that can easily be massaged to 500+ with very little effort. Even on a conservative side if this simple 15 mod adds 10RWHP, most owners will go from the 460HP at Crank, (using a loss of 15% to crank or that 10RWHP divided by .85) to 483HP. Add a simple drop in filter and you see a conservative 7HP, putting you in at 490.

That's almost 500 HP for as little as $350 (Airraid filter and Throttle Body) after core and shipping

What Intake is everyone referring to?

Probably just the TB as I'm in for the aFe intake as of right now.
