I saw that, however, there is also a "Corvette"
logo also.
I am just stating (that unless the OP has substantial
proof that Hennessy upgrades or modifications actually contributed
to the fire) there is no reason to suspect either manufacturer
of any wrong doing.
It's certainly possible, as is in anything.
Heck, someone using a torch on the exhaust, could
have ignited the rear end!
there are better ways to black out the rear bumper
Well done
But I am afraid this blackout method leaves a much larger carbon footprint than modern low VOC finishes however.
Until we get more details it really can't be blamed on an aftermarket company just yet. The worst (and weirdest) car fire I have ever seen was back in the pre-DirectTv days when a truck lost a large fiberglass satellite dish in the road and a fairly small car ended up on top and skidded down the road. The dish caught fire either from the car or due to friction sliding down the road and although the driver was unharmed the car and dish were a total loss. Fiberglass burns very well once it gets started.
I just took a second look at the rear end of that car and noticed it has no real license plate but a license plate that reads 700 HR.....
I believe it's '700HP' - there is a blob of something on the plate causing the illusion that the P is continued down. Used Photoshop tweaks & unsharp masking, etc.
Not sure if it's a legal plate, though. Too much damage to see any particular state markings, etc.
The picture does not have anything to do with Hennessy unless you have more information.
Just a pic of a burned rear.
The turbos are mounted in the rear. Their kits are all rear mount. Not really sure if it was an oil line or something else. Just know this is not the first issue from this well known shop and it amazes me how the public does not here about all the issues. The only reason I know this information is a friend of mine sent his C7 there over 6 months ago and they are still having "tuning problems".
I've had the Hennessey kit on my car for about a year and a half, the 650 one, TVS-2300 core unit. No issues with it, but then again it is on my C6 GS. If it is them, or any other tuner for that matter, guess gotta work out the kinks. I hate to say this but I guess things like this are somewhat expected for the 1st year of the LT1 and tuners cracking the codes. Definiely sucks to be that owner, but as someone already pointed out, "time to test ye old warranty"
As for the pic in the OP, whoever owns the car obviously is not a big believer in doing your homework. Maybe an old timer who has no idea what Google is.

I'm old and I can still remember. I'll pass on using them to modify my car.
Are they actually marketing that as a "Hennessey Kit" ??? The TVS-2300 Corvette units are Eaton-based superchargers produced by Magnuson. It's a Magnuson kit that anyone can install. Just looked it up, apparently they use their own air intake and pulley instead of what comes in the box: http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/...ay-hpe650.html As for the pic in the OP, whoever owns the car obviously is not a big believer in doing your homework. They use the edelbrock core unit. If I had the skill to install it, could've done that with the edelbrock 1571 kit.
