I think Theta has convinced me to get some Cray wheels and some 888's. Heading to track tomorrow to get a couple of runs in and see the difference in the build.
Didn't have to do much convincing - the price kind of does that for you.
Hell, I've not even seen them yet - I might hate them, but I do like the price, the weight, and the center cap.... and the extra several grand in my pocket versus the wheels I really wanted.
Yeah the price is right and they actually look pretty good. Entire set with tires for what one tire with rim costs for some others I have considered. I will use the extra dough for the head/cam.
The Toyo R888's are awesome compared to the others. Cut .6 tenths off my time and that was with a passenger in there. I am using stock rims and 285/35/20's in the back and they are hooking pretty solid.
What Cam package (and from which vendor) is recommended with the ECS blower? I have an A&A S/C installation ongoing now (with 1 7/8 ARH Long Tubes)....dont intend to do meth but am interested in Cam if there is a good solution on the market.
Scott, there's no specific on-size-fits-all. Depending on which vendor you're closest to, you'll need to discuss the individual wants/needs with them.
I know what you mean (well, I think I do) - you're looking for 'the' recommended blower cam. Truth is, with the C7, there's no such thing yet.
Who is doing your A&A install? Cam installs are far more complex, and require a very good shop to do them properly, as most will attest to here.
Its a local shop here in Sierra Vista - Desert Automotive Racing ( desertautosv.com/master-services/services-3 ) which has a close relationship with Livernois (the owner also owns PSI Superchargers)... they seem to be doing a good job on the S/C and header install (at least asthetically) ....havent run the vehicle yet because we are waiting on the LMR FI ventillation system you turned me on to (ordered Friday so should be here and installed Wendsday)..
There are still a limited number of shops doing good cam installs. Oters are having oil pressure issues, etc.
I know very little about west coast shops, but perhaps you could give Andy a quick call or send him a PM and ask for his opinion. I'm sure he knows of some good ones out there.
I'm only familiar with the midwest and southeast shops.

Scott
I went with LMR for blower and will go with them most likely for h/c. Vengeance I heard does good work too. Other than that I have no info on others.

we are in az "CPR" and did the white car ben @ weapon x posted up. So far we have 12 C7's under our belt w/ blower kits, and 8 of them have cams installed as well. The people that didn't know to plug the dod towers shouldn't have been touching these as that has been known forever on the gen iv ls stuff. These car's are pretty easy to do a cam as long as you don't rush it and take your time. There is nothing challenging about it just no fast way to do it like with the C5/6 platform. It's going to be a little faster now that Katech has that dod delete valley cover out.

Im running the same tire/wheels and can't get them to hook. What pressures are you running? Have you found a better rpm to launch at then with the launch control?

I have found you have to do really do a nice burnout with them. 26psi to
28 psi is the sweet spot for me. Launch at 1500rpms only. If they are not hot they will not hook with any power over stock.
