I didn't say dump the clutch either, but if you like replacing clutches you go ahead and keep slipping it. You should be easy on it and do not depress it all the way to floor. Go out and practice with your car, you will see just how much you have to push the pedal down to make a shift, and its not very far. You start slipping that clutch under RPM though, and you better have an organic clutch and plan on replacing often. If you have a metallic or ceramic you do that once or twice at some RPM and you will be pushing your car off the track.

Yeah I dont ride it just slip it some. Might been a lil too slow on it when it slipped bad and didnt catch.
Not sure how high this clutch good for. Im on 305/35R18 ET Streets with 657whp about to add more for Texas Mile
I have an all stock 2014 Z51 that I brought to the track last night to see what it will do. I used the Performance Traction Management mode. I held the throttle to the floor, the RPMs went to about 4,000, and then I quickly let off the clutch to lunch. It made it about 3 feet and I believe I lost the drivers side axle but I might have screwed up the rear-end as well. I wouldn't expect this to happen with it being stock, yeah there was VHT on the track and I did get good hookup but it is stock? If it can't handle a 4,000 RPM launch why would the Performance Traction Management be set for that? I am thinking I must have had a defective part. Has this happened to anyone else?
422vette, that's terrible to hear. Especially when the manual tells you that's exactly how to use the launch control. It should be repaired under warranty with no issue, but you'll always be apprehensive about using that feature from now on. I know I would be
Slip the clutch, not "dump" the clutch. Makes all the difference and usually faster too.
They wonder why parts break with high RPM clutch dumps.
You can also slam 2nd gear too hard. Would never do that to my car. When I was 16 I used to do that
but I replaced tranny's and clutches. Haven't hurt one since.
You can drive too hard go slower and break parts.
