Lowering bolt install

Default Lowering bolt install

i got the kit from Zip corvette and no instructions.

they said to remove the a arm from cradle HOWEVER the gas tank is in the way of the forward bolts.

so whats the deal?

tips/tricks? i found it not possible to remove the leaf with the arms installed. i guess remove the spindle?

Im not to sure about this but heres the tips and tricks from my bro. End product turned out pretty good.
Fwd:I put the jack stands on the leaf spring bar to take the tension off the stock bolt, all I unbolted was the shock and the sway bar, turned the bolt so the rubber stopper went down then took a sawzall and cut the stock bolt in half below the leaf spring then removed the remaining part of the bolt out of leaf spring. You can then take a pry bar push down on the a arm enough to where you can squeeze the aftermarket lowering bolts might need a hand with the pushing down on the a arm part. I must warn you I did go through about 6 sawzall blades. LOL

I wish someone had an instructional on how to install them. I've had some lowering bolts for a while but not sure how to install them.

Your car looks great, but I'd be worried about destroying the original bolts. I could be wrong, but I don't think the stock bolts are an orderable part from GM. If you ever want or need to go back to stock, you may have some trouble.

obviously vendors here are doing it, just need to get a response.

i would like to avoid sawzall approach! i believe they are removing the lower arm from the spindle. thats my next attempt anyways.

i just cut the lower third off the rear bolts with a sawzall and have had no issues.

From an aesthetic point of view I dont think I'd ever go back to stock height. Hopefully I dont have any unforeseen issues that would require me to take it back to stock height.

you should be able to approach stock height with lowering bolts too. you dont have to only use them all the way lowered.

I cut the first rib off mine. in place

Man you'd be hating life around here... I think the regulations say that speed bumps must be about 11" tall...lol (ok, they are really, but they are tall enough that lowered on stock bolts is a challenge...) Either that or the paving companies just wanted to use all the asphalt mix that day...
