Does anyone know if the new Z06 clutch is different than the one in my 2014 Z51? If it is will work as an upgrade to my 2014 with a supercharger?
The stock C7 clutch has proven to be solid up to a very high amount of HP. Have yet to have a customer need one replaced and we have quite a few running around w/ 700+ rwhp that drag race it.
The part numbers may be different on the pressure plate, but besides them visually appearing identical, the bearing load and plate load were the same as well when tested.
I think that the bearing is going out. I feel a vibration in the peddle and I have some chatter. I have driven a stick shift car all of my life and have never had a clutch problem. The car has 9500 miles on it. ?????????

Yep, sounds like either the throwout bearing or clutch release bearing. I've had those go bad in as little as 2000 miles on two different Getrag transmissions (other was ~6000mi), and I never am on the pedal except to shift.
9500mi wouldn't be absurdly soon, but that's still annoying. Part's cheap, labor is fairly extensive. Should be under warranty regardless of drivetrain mods (kind of hard for an OEM to explain away a premature throwout bearing failure).
Only exception is if they see clutch glazing or other signs of what they would call 'abuse' or driver error (resting on clutch pedal), then they may tell you it's a wear item. Been through that with a different brand but came out successful after seeing a pristine clutch face.
wait WHAT?! Did they say why not? yes, clutch is a wear item but premature failure is most certainly a warranty issue
It appears that if the drive train has been modified they do not warrant any of the drive train components. They are not sure what is wrong since they have not opened up the car yet.
Also, it appears that there are different parts numbers for the ZO6 flywheel, clutch and bearing vs. the Z51. I have asked if I can upgrade my car with the ZO6 parts. Still waiting for an answer.

Was waiting to see somebody get pinched by the new rules. Looks like they're actually enforcing them. Sorry, man.

They have been enforceing them since 2007. I had a 2500HD DURAMAX denied transmission warranty coverage due to a tune in 07. The pay to play rule went into effect the second they put that cvn checksum in the ecu.
