Default C7 tpms

Hey guys. I am having issues with my sensors for the my c7. I got some new wheels and tires and bought the sensors for the tires. Took it to 2 dealers and one couldn't figure it out and the second dealers says that the sensor is to far and they will have to reprogram it that way but it'll cost 560 bucks! Can anyone help me! It shoulnt cost me this much to program the gm sensors. Any advice would be appreciated.

The C7 sensors should auto program. You have to drive the car for about 10-15 miles at speeds above 45 mph but it should auto program. At least it has for our cars when I have swapped wheels and tires over on them.

Possible it doesn't have the right sensor in it?

The sensor I got was 13581559.
This is what he dealer told me to get after I gave them my vin #. Reading other places tgboigh these sensors might be the wrong ones or overseas version. Does this mean I have to fet the new ones ? Also which ones do you put on your wheels? Thanks.

Let me confirm with my GM parts guy in the morning and I can give you the correct PN for it.

That part number is listed as the export version for non-USA applications. Where are you located?

I see part 19119416 as US version.

I'm in the dc area. So does this mean it will not work?

I'd imagine this would explain them not auto learning on your car. I don't know if there is a way to force the export TPMS to program with a tool. The bottom line is that the TPMS should learn into your car within a few minutes of driving. I have two sets of Z51 wheels, and each time I swap the relearn happens within 3 miles of driving.

There is a forced relearn mode on the C7 for times the auto mode doesn't work, but I'm not sure that would even work for your case.

See here: http://www.thecorvettemechanic.com/f...elearn-process

The price the shop is quoting you is just stupid. Worst case you need to buy new sensors and have them installed. So $130 for sensors and $80 for dismount/install/remount. And return the incorrect sensors.

Agree.

If it is the Euro version..then no they will not program. They run on a different 'channel' so to speak than the US cars so I don't think the car would ever know they are there in the first place...which also explains why it can't find them.

Depends on your VIN, two different stock sensors based on VIN.

Also doubt they will return them. I got them mid February and the snow here has been crazy so just installed them. So I'm stuck with them.

This resource shows that P/N as a viable US version:

And Amazon:

Whether it autolearns, not sure, but it should work.

I personally used P/N 19119416 on my extra set of Z51 wheels. They autolearn on my previous 2014 Z51 and new 2015 Z51. 2014 was an M7, and 2015 is an A8. So a pretty good range of variables...

If it was the wrong part in the first place, and you have documentation to show that, I think you have a strong case.

I don't think I would rely on Amazon as a final arbiter of applicability.

Why would you not reuse the ones that came on the original wheels?

I agree, but the P/N the OP is now getting from the dealer has relatively few references in CF for the C7 compared to 19119416. It was merely to provide some info implying (at best) it should work. And see below...

Other CF references to the P/N:

I'm keeping the old wheels so wanted the sensors on them.
