I neglected to get the better sound that comes with the performance exhaust option( in Sport mode) on my new C7.
I live in Arlington , Tx. Does anyone know where I can get this mod done in this area?Any and all info appreciated on this NPP exhaust appreciated.
Very hard to find a used set of NPP mufflers---Even used the set-up can be $1200 - Then you may need to buy an afterket controller to activate it--Not sure if you can reprogram a NON NPP car to work with NPP with stock parts---My choice would be to skip the NPP totally and simply get a cat back exhaust that will sound great--all the time !! NO switch----

Thanks for responding but what exactly is a cat back exhaust and what does that installation entail? How does the sound compare with the performance exhaust option?
A Cat Back replaces your stock exhaust from the Catalytic Convertors back. Borla, B&B, Corsa, etc manufacture aftermarket catback systems. Search this site and or youtube. They will have sound clips so you can get an idea of the tone of each system.
If you want the actual NPP search this; NPP Reverse-Engineered - Full Open/Close, Non-Factory-NPP Retrofit.
There is also the cut off the mufflers and replace with straight pipes route.

It's no different than the flaps being open. It is a cheap solution but it's not that loud.
Having no mufflers with a straight pipe is much louder than an NPP with open flaps, it will be especially loud if you're catless and have headers. The mufflers even with flaps open still has internal baffles, and resonators.
My car with headers/catless drones on the highway with flaps open. It's nice to be able to close them on the highway.
Don't cut the mufflers off, it would be unbearably loud, and obnoxious. Get a decent set of mufflers.
NO WAY------I have the same exact mod----Mufflers cut off and the used the quad 4" Flowmaster Stainless tips
These cars have 4 cats unlike earlier Corvettes that had only 2---It is just barely louder than NPP exhaust---NO drone or resonance at all
When 1st started while the ignition is in "double pulse mode" it is loud--But after it warms up it settles down to a low rumble as NPP
NPP ordered from the dealer is $1200
A catback exhaust that open ups all 4 sides of the tips can range from $1500 to $3000
A muffler delete is the bomb----The dual SS tips from Flowmaster are only about $88 for both--- The muffler shop charged me $75 to install them-----So muffler delete cost------$150---

I have no cats. lol. It would be more beneficial performance wise to go with headers, and xpipe before modifying the axleback for sound.

Ok Yes I would have to agree going catless would make it sound very harsh--
Rather than going the header route ( not legal here in Calif) I chose to intall a set of the MAP Performance ported stock exhaust manifolds-- Sound change was not noticeable during P/T but at WOT it's more throaty and seat of the pants HP felt better for sure
