Hi All,
I'm new to the forum, and just bought my first Corvette C7 Convertible.
I'm looking into supercharging. There are so many different options out there, it's a bit overwhelming. So I'm looking for input from the folks in this forum. I see many claims and varying opinions on this. Since the Corvette is new, I really don't want to tear into the motor to replace heads cams ect. What I am looking for is what are my best options.
I see everyone has about a 550ish bolt on supercharger running 7 PSI of boost. I also see in the case of Pro Charger, they have some upgraded head units you can purchase, and if I read this right, and you install one of the upgraded head units, you need to take it to get the car tuned as they don't come with any out of the box programming system.
I was curious if anyone knows how much boost you can run on the standard C7 without putting the motor in jeopardy. I'd like to get the car into the 10's ideally, but that might be a pipe dream without replacing heads, cams, exhaust etc.
In reading, I'm wondering if you went with a meth set up to help with the fuel system, you should be able to put a tune on it that would allow you to run more boost. I can't find anything during my research that tells me what the limit on boost is.
I'm also wondering what kind of 1/4 times the guys running a typical 550 HP supercharged stock engine are seeing at the track in the 1/4 mile.
I'm interested in tapping the collective experence here from the more experenced guys running super chargers. I like the stock driveability of the car, but I'd like to step it up.
Any input from you guys would be wonderful.
Thanks
Rich
I have the ECS kit on my 2014 C7 A6 Z51 convertible and love it. Chris/Doug at ECS did the install and tune. I made approx. 550wbp with restrictor plate and stock exhaust manifolds. This was with crap winter gas here in NJ. The car feels like picked up some power even in much higher temps/humidity, with summer blend Sunoco 93. If you aren't getting on it, the only difference is a light bit of blower whine. However, when you get on it - it is amazing. Their tune makes the power smooth and predictable. With a centri kit and proper tune, you really aren't putting more stress on motor when off boost. I love getting into boost, but you won't stay there long or will be worrying about jail time vs. engine

For what it's worth.. I too own an ECS supercharged C7. 10's are VERY doable. We drive our 2014 Z51 as a daily driver and the ECS kit has exceeded our expectations of owning a blown Corvette. We worried that it would detract the overall driving experience with THAT much horsepower on tap. Just the opposite.. We went with the quiet blow off valve and unless you stomp on it, you'd never really notice that you're driving a supercharged beast. In our particular setup, we opted for the ECS 1500 supercharger (10 to 10.5 pounds of boost), ECS alky methanol kit (single nozzle spraying on the 7.5 setting), American Racing 1 7/8" Long Tube Headers (with cats) and an LMR catch can (the updated system revision breather) and of course, the car was assembled and tuned professionally.. The result was 662 rwhp / 585 tq.

Sorry to hijack this thread....but your set up is pretty much EXACTLY what I want!! My only question is; Are the braided hoses and fittings used with your LMR catch can all black stainless? And did they come stock with the catch can or are they a custom mod?

No worries. They are black nylon braided hoses. The fittings and hoses came with the breather when I ordered the LMR **REVISED** Catch Can. Here is a thread about it:

I just passed the 600 mile mark after install of Procharger with helical cut gears. my reason for choosing Procharger included the fact that the manufacturing facility is 30 min from my house. I was able to visit factory and engineers prior to purchase. They were able to provide me a list of owners across the country and I was able to visit with several and get their input. My 2014 z51 M7 went from 434 HP stock (RWHP) to over 610 (RWHP) on three different dyno runs. No meth, no headers- only the SC (7 LB boost)and intercooler kit. yes I also bought the hand tuner that comes with the kit. total cost after install was around 7000.00. RESULTS: under 3200/3500 RPM no difference/ cant tell the unit is there. very quiet due to gears. above that- what a kick in the pants! I am cautious now but getting more brave each day. the impact on acceleration is dramatic. I have yet to really stand on it thru 5th and 6th but hope to do that soon. 2nd 3rd and 4th are the most fun every day! the car is my daily driver.
Three mods........headers, methanol injection and ECS NOVI 1500= 700whp
ECS customer service is second to none. Paxton NOVI 1500 is a proven headunit with adjustability. BER price on this package is unbeatable.
How about this. Full header system w/o cats, FULL NOVI 1500 kit and Methanol injection single nozzle for $6500 SHIPPED (2014) +300 for 2015 car
BER....Just curious... How much for ECS kit in black, Alky Meth, and ARH long tubes W/high flow cats... shipped? Also price of all this installed with a tune too? I'm actually not too far from Kernersville, actually bought my Cummins there...was planning on going to Vengeance Racing but if I can save myself the drive and still get a reputable shop to do the work, well.... (feel free to PM me if you don't want to post these prices publicly)

BER seems to be the best kept secret in the LSX/LTX community. We sell and do it ALL at the lowest price. We do custom paint and body, airbrush, custom interiors, forced induction, head and intake porting, differential and transmission builds, etc etc

Considering you're not too far from me...I may have to make the drive down and speak to you all in person sometime! Get a feel for the shop, ya know?! If that would be ok with you?! Are y'all open on Saturdays?
