Default Something's not right. Possible meth problems....

Went out to the local car meet / drag race spot tonight and did two races and when I came back in everyone told me that my car is "breaking up REAL bad". They said that it is popping really bad. I couldn't hear it at all since my exhaust and the other cars exhaust are soo loud at WOT. Well, I let the engine cool, and then left and headed home. On the way home I got on it a bit to ensure that the meth LED is illuminating red to arm itself, and then going green when it is spraying, which it is. What I noticed is that as soon as I start spraying, the car indeed start popping really bad.
Best way I can describe it is it sounds like when the meth starts spraying like I am hitting a two step limiter. Similar sound to the C6 in the video below. So far I have not gotten any CEL's or anything. I'm almost wondering if I may be spraying too much? (dual nozzle, one 15GPH and one 10GPH, with controller gain set on 6 of 8). I'm at 10PSI of boost.

Thoughts guys?

I don't understand much about this as I had the work done at a shop but I do remember ECS telling me single nozzle is the way to go unless you absolutely need the dual nozzle which I do not think they recommend until over 800rwhp.

I made 638rwhp at 9 psi, comparing boost I don't think is the same because the head unit is not the same. Comparing CFM is more accurate.

I use a single nozzle set at 4. So if its the same meth controller your dumping a crap load more meth for not much more power if I remember correctly.

How you compare that to the head unit you have to the Novi 1500 I'm not sure but still seems like too much.

My thought would be to disconnect the meth and see if the problem continues. Then go from there. It is possible it's too much.

I was thinking about that but since I am meth dependent I dont think thats a good idea. I was thinking about dialing it back a bit but don't want to touch anything until I can talk to my tuner. I think its too much meth myself..

#6 on a twin nozzle sounds like a lot.
I usually tune stock bottom ends with a single nozzle set at halfway.

Thanks, Andy. Does that apply to running 10PSI with 93 octane?

I suppose I can do that. It just sucks getting to the ones on the passenger side. Since I had to repair the fuse box power lug im afraid to take it off again that it may break again.

I'm guessing plugs too. Did you gap them yourself?

However I'd just take it to your tuner and have them hook it up. They'll know it's plugs with out taking them off

Sounds like it's breaking up because of plugs. Can't rule out too much meth though. Check your AFR.

Any update on this?

Your situation sounds like the same issue I had a few weeks ago. It ended up being a loose spark plug wire causing a misfire, but like your situation, I had no CEL. I agree with the others who say to check the plugs/wires.

No update yet. I ended up having to work late last night and couldn't dig in to the car so I'll be working on it tonight to pull some of the plugs and check the plug wires. I was thinking of your thread also when this started happening.. Lol

OK I pulled a few plugs. All three look the same so far. Looks like a little carbon buildup on the outer ring, but plugs don't quite look fouled to me. Thoughts?

3rd is perfect but the first 2 are running ritch, If you re install them turn your meth down to 4 on both kits and go drive it. Just my opinion but you will know if it's not enough just as it's going to do now with too much

There is only 1 kit with 1 controller for both nozzles. I have still not spoken with my tuner but would like to talk to him about it before we start adjusting the meth down just to be safe. Also, I read on several threads that its not recommended to use aftermarket plug wires. Maybe add some protective boots to them but keep the OEM wires on there.

ANT, looks like 1st & 2nd plug is running to rich with that # 1 plug really bad. I am with Andy here also to much meth for that small of a blower set that high. You are correct talk with the tuner also but to be 100% sure chg out all 8 plugs then leave the setting like you have it.

Then go out with the new plugs and do a good WOT pull & you will see that it will run great then until the plugs get fouled out again. Robert

The timing marks on the third plug look suspect also.
Good luck, hope you get it figured out.

Does anybody have any experience with spark plug cleaners? I was thinking about picking up the pneumatic spark plug cleaner from Harbor freight. Really don't want to spend $80 in a week of time waiting on new plugs. I briefly texted back and forth with my tuner. He said that it is indeed possible that I could be a bit too richAnd that the LT1 is very finicky. I am not sure if they are open tomorrow, but if so I'm going to see if I can bring my car up for him to take a look at it. Was thinking about picking up the spark plug cleaner tool tonight and trying to get the plugs clean for tomorrow. Thoughts?
