I agree, don't do it! My tuner said it was not needed even at 700 RWHP. I have not had any fueling issues since my mods went in. If you need a higher volume pump, you will need to break down and by the Z06 pump. I think they are around 850.00
Has anyone had a positive experience with the lash cap? I had one installed before reading about the nightmare situations others have had. I have not had any problems with it... is this something I should be concerned about or are most of the problems occurring during install or when paired with the z06 HP fuel pump?
Done quite a few especially in the beginning of this all w/ zero failures to date. Not saying we are doing some magical other's are not but never had a failure. I always prefer doing the C7Z pump if money allows and no cam has been installed.
Don't do it at all. Some have come out and gotten lost in the oil system. They were a bandaid before we knew how to tune right...
I know some people have dropped theirs into their motor while trying to install it. But do you know of any instances where one has fallen out after already being installed?

yes, mine.
the lash cap created enough lift on the pump rod to push the LT4 pump off the block by shearing the mounting bolts!!
I couldn't figure out why I lost control of fueling until I pulled the intake. Oh ****!!!
Anyways, installed a new one with no lash cap, it still holds pressure but the LT4 injectors are too small for my application so I am waiting on an Alky Control kit to arrive.

Higgs I recall you having crazy fuel trims using lt4 injector data on your 14..... I'm going to use stock lt4 hpfp data for now and attempt to install lt4 injector data if I have the same issues I may just keep the injector data stock for the lt1 or just change from 121 to 140 for the injector size and retry....
