This intake is putting down pretty close to what I got out of a ported stock intake. Right around that 20-25 mark.
Agreed!
OEM ported intake manifold would cost 300 to 500 bucks and give the same amount of power, maybe just a little less vs 1k.
As for the camaro LT1, tri-y stock headers do help a bit more vs the c7 setup.
MSD shows loss of power @ lower RPMs that I have seen via multiple dynos with different car and different dynos but gains @ upper RPMs which can be fixed simply by a tune but a ported IM by Ben @ WeaponX or Ruben @ SoCal porting can achieve very close gains for 300-550 bucks.

Can someone explain which company makes the ported stock intake gain 20whp
I talk to Ber Cajun he said the ported intake and ported Tb together gains About 15whp
idk if Ben at weapon X ports it more or ber was just giving me a minimum of 15 to not over estimate it

I do wish I had done a stock baseline and then another dyno pull for my ported TB/IM combo but just did an after the fact pulls.
15-20 rwhp is usually what you will gain out of ported tb and IM. I've used SoCal Porting, Ben @ WeaponX does a fantastic job as well.
MSD will gain a bit more power out of it, but it comes down to a value thing. You do pay for what you get. My TB / IM porting costed me basically nothing of what MSD intake goes for. Did I get as much power as the MSD? Nope. But did I save over 600 bucks and still get double digit powers? Yep.
Another thing to add that I am not aware off when it comes to the MSD is that ported IM, you will gain a whistle which you will hear under load IF your windows are down. Don't know if it's the same thing with MSD. Another turn off for me for not getting the MSD besides the cost was the actual look of it, not a fan. But of course the cost/visual is completely personal and like I mentioned before, if people want to spend the money for it and get it, I am all for that! It's their $$$ and they can choose to do whatever they please with it.

You had me until this part. The whistle I want is from a supercharger. I would have thought the ported stock, MSD, or ported MSD would not whistle?

Completely understandable! It isn't that terrible though. SC whine is much much louder than it. After removing my secondary cats, I don't even hear it anything under WoT with windows down. Sound of freedom overrides the whistle haha.
I truly do not know if the MSD one does whistle or not. Ported stock one does though. Mine is actually from a 2015 c7 z51. Direct bolt on LT1's ftw

But everyone says Ben at weapon X his gains 20 to 25whp with out porting the Tb how is everyone else's only shop that ports them gain 15 with porting the Tb Combo
am I missin something or he just ports it more
Tryin to confirm this to either try get bens or ber's

Craftsmanship quality I would say is different, as in better. Also dyno #s count on way too many variables. Weather, type of dyno (mustang vs dynojet), octane (91 vs 93 vs meth vs e85 etc) used in the car, etc. So being able to see 10 rwhp gain from 1 dyno could also mean 18-20 from another then of course there is tuning which will squeeze out more power than just without tune.
I have no experience with Ber's porting thus I cannot speak for it. I have seen Ben's work in person when I helped Kracka install his IM and it's a fantastic porting job. Pictures will never do any justice to a good porting job, you can kinda tell but visually inspecting and using your finger to swipe the parts to check out the smoothness is when you definitely can tell how good it is. If it is a "bad" porting job, even pictures will tell you that haha.

We already answered this in the other manifold thread you started.....

You can get a dyno to rear much higher on number if you want it too.
Any photos of MSD installed, or after being painted?
Every photo I can find seems to be of the stock MSD install with virtually all of the covers left off.
That's because the stock engine cover does NOT fit on top of the MSD. You could shave off the lettering and paint it however won't be able to add the stock cover clamp / bolt spots to it. For the MSD LS7, you could but I haven't seen anything for the LT1 version.

yeah, i get the top cover, it's the "corvette' lettered covers I was concerned about from a show n go perspective. Looked at the link - like the shaved and painted MSD - if the C7 covers would fit I'd be sold.

Un ported msd vs stock lt1 manifold on a 416 stroker. Prc ported heads. Custom tsp cam and e60 fuel. Very conservative dynojet in 100* muggy conditions both times but the gains are un deniable. Nearly 40 wheel+ out the back door.
