I had one in my C6 Z06, and installed one in my C7 a month or so ago.
My sister and her husband visited us in FL a couple weeks ago and he drove my car and said he needed an MGW in his C7!!
So I got one for my brother-in-law's car and will install it for him in the end of the month. I'll be going up to run my car at the NCM HPDE at VIR, and will visit my sister and him after the event - they live 60 miles northeast of the track and I'll spend a few days with them at their beautiful property, and I'll have plenty of time to install his MGW.
Do you guys get any vibration from your MGW shifters? I get some in 7th at cruise and sometimes in fifth. The shifter has to be in the upper right position. I can't figure what is making the sound!? I've got the flat stick. I did buy my used, but I installed a new silicone piece.
I figured as much. Did you guys leave in the rubber sound protection or remove? Since I have the flat stick, I put it back on. Might be too much stuff under the boot.

Drove to the grocery yesterday and it rattled like crazy, didn't matter what gear. I isolated the rattle to the ball on the flat stick. I ran the ball further down the shaft and tightened the lock nut back up. Haven't driven it to see if that was the cure, weather too nice and I'm commuting on the bike.
Odd, I drive the vette in the winter and it sits in the summer!
Ok, so "smooth as silk"...how smooth is that? I installed mine about 2 months ago and while it is better than stock, I can still feel some "ratcheting" feelings while going into gears. 2016 Z51. It stays in gear and all just fine but I was hoping it would be smoother getting into gear. It was all smooth as silk before hooking up linkage.
The stock shifter box is the EXACT same as the 1997 - 2013. The MGW replaces everything connected to the transmission shaft.
One of the problems is the stock box is mounted to the torque tube with small rubber bushings to control noise and vibration. After a few thousand miles, the rubber bushings soften and the box starts to moves around which is what drivers feel as looseness/vagueness when trying to shift specially to the upper gears.
Replacing these bushings with aftermarket rubber or urethane does help a lot. But the MGW is best.

I have looked at it pretty closely..
I had one in my C5Z06, and transferred it to my 2014 Stingray...
It has Hurst internals and has the best feel of any I have tried..
It is the perfect combination of short throw, but minimal shift effort in the overdrive gears, and has a definite "Click" when it is in gear...
The CORE/Hurst shifter is a nice part. Works even better mounted to an MGW lower box.
MGW box may be a bit better design, but I don't like that they left the box open to dirt and heat. I also like that the GM design engages the shift lever through a plastic bushing instead of the end of the shifter stick rubbing metal to metal.

I see
I will be buying the core then!
Its just better packaging IMO, haha, and the clicking sound you mentioned
