Default Can a PDR be installed

I found a C7 ZO6 for a good price locally and it has the options I want except for PDR. Can it be installed?

No, not the factory one. There are some really good aftermarket alternatives that have superior picture quality and give you a lot of the same telemetry the factory system does. If you found a car you like, I wouldn't let the lack of a pdr be the deciding factor. At least, imo.

Thank you for your answer. I am a Camaro "collector" and am trying to decide if I should sell and go to the ZO6. I really like the PDR and unless I wait for an 18 and lose all the discounts, I would have to settle for one without.

There are always discounts of course, but they change all the time :-)

Factory PDR is in the rear view mirror. You would need to replace the rear view mirror with some aftermarket one that was integrated into a new true view mirror if you wanted it in the factory location. Not going to find something that goes into the factory mirror.

Correct. Circled. My mistake, not in the actual mirror but integrated into the trim. Finding one to fit in that location would be challenging. You might be able to source the actual camera and integrate it into some other dash cam that supports an external camera feed, not sure if that exists though.

Just thinking out loud here.

You'd need to pull the cover and figure out how much space is there then mount a camera if you can fit one. You can get a 12v to 5v mirror tap to power it off the mirror. The problem then is the memory card. You'd have to pull that cover to get at it, unless you gave it access for a cable to hook up to your laptop or just pull the camera through. That might work, lol. You'd probably still need to interface with the actual camera to transfer video if you fed a cable to it. That covers a bitch to remove too. I'd pass, just mount one to the mirror and power it there. Blackvue makes systems with both front and rear cameras, they're supposed to be pretty good.
