Default First gear

When cold, and backing out of my garage, there is an hesitation from reverse to drive. When warm, it works correctly.
My dealer said it's within parameters. Seems strange as my C6 didn't do that.
Any help?

Normal. There is a TSB out there for this but the fix requires removing the transmission to make the change, so I've opted to live with it. If my trans ever had to come out for any other reason, I'd have them fix it, but not until then.

Basically fluid is draining back out of the trans when it's cold, so when you start it up cold is has to pump that fluid back up before you can move in D. That takes a second or two.

Since it's only mildly annoying in my car, I just live with it. But there is a dealer dix if yours is bad enough.
