The regular shifter is around $380 shipped from the vendor. The flat stick is about $30 more.

You can call MGW directly and mention you're a member of this forum and they will give you a 5% discount code.

For a MGW and short-throw shifter newb, what is the first before/after thing you will notice after installation? Are the shifts more precise or just short in terms of travel?

The very first thing you will notice is the throw. Shifting with the regular shifter vs a short throw is night and day. It's almost like you barely even have to move it to get it in gear. Shifts are more precise as well as it takes a little more effort to shift it in gear, so once you're used to it there far less of a chance for you to miss a gear.

None so far although I don't really use it that often. But the times I have used it, it's worked fine.

Increased shift effort. Increased effort to push over to 7th or reverse. Shorter throws.

I've noticed an improvement of 1-2. 2-3 is better, though not perfect. There is still a "wall" if not 90% on target to 3rd. This is just initial impression. Not much seat time whatsoever.

I was completely cured of 2nd gear nibble yesterday too...
I went with Amsoil for my trans fluid...

Not my first MGW and surely won't be my last one either...
