MORE AIR OUT = More air in .....Better breathing , more complete combustion , Fuel trims trying to make up for it but never will get it optimal and as Gary mentions you also will get the CEL because of the rear O2 sensors which measure CAT efficiency will not work correctly in the new position so they get turned off in the tune . Putting headers on without a tune is like taking a shower with your shoes on ...

I'll admit that I am currently showering with my shoes on...I went with the Kooks Green cats which are designed to not throw a CEL. After 2 years of running them, still no CEL on stock tune, but I'm still running stock cold air intake and stock filter. At least 2 others that I have come across have tried the Green cats and got a CEL, but they were also running aftermarket cold air intakes which likely is enough airflow change to significantly imbalance things. This spring, I'm going to throw my wideband on and log some air fuel ratios to see how things look and will tune it if the numbers look crazy. There's definitely some horsepower to be gained by tuning it, but don't expect a huge increase in values since the stock exhaust flows fairly well, just doesn't sound as well.

Different strokes for different folks , if you want to spend $2,300.00 for undoubtedly the best headers out there and then not tune it ...you could have gotten the same sound a lot cheaper ....
