Default CCB conversion by Girodisk

https://www.girodisc.com/Girodisc-Front-2pc-Rotors-for-C7-Z07-with-OEM-CCM-Rotors_p_6661.html

So it's looking like I'll need to replace my front rotors on my GS ZO7, but it looks like with this conversion I can keep my calipers and itll be cheaper to convert them over rather than buying a pair of CCB rotors. $2500 for all 4.
Has anyone done a conversion? It's my daily driver so I dont need ceramics, this conversions seems to be a good deal.
Let me know if anyone has suggestions on it!

Thanks,
TK

Did it on my friends. Easy. You'll lose a bit of bite with the street pads.

I'm not too worried about that since I'm usually in traffic, I just dont want to have to end up telling the wife we need to spend thousands on replacements again lol.so is it just these rotors and a set of pads and I'm good? I should only put about 30k miles before I sell her and I dont want to have to replace anything again. Also the rears are in almost perfect shape i wonder if someone would be interested in buying them.

If your fronts are shot I'd be interested in the hats and hardware.

Apologies for digging up an old thread, but I'm pretty much in the exact same boat. The fronts on my C7 Grand Sport w/Z07 is starting to get a bit rough, and screech like crazy, so I'm looking to replace all 4 with the Girodisc set. They saw a few track days as the car was previously the demo/track car for the dealership, plus I really can't stand the noise, and I too really don't want to explain the replacement cost to the wife.
Few quick questions for you (and anyone else that has changed them out):
- How do you like them? How's the dust/noise?
- Was it pretty straight-forward on replacement? (Swapping the disks/pads, and that's it? No issues with the calipers, etc?)
- Are the options for pads limited? (From what it looked like to me, only a few pads worked with them..)
- Were you able to sell the old components? It would be great to be able to partially fund the change-over by selling the CCB components...
- Did you dodge the "my wife is gonna kill me" bullet?

All in all I will probably occasionally track the car, but more for fun and nothing super serious. The Z07 package is pearls to swine to me overall, but that's how it came and it was too good of a deal to pass up. All in all its my daily driver and just want to enjoy the car w/o worrying about spending a fortune for rotors/pads or dealing with screeching from the CCBs.

Thanks!

like any other iron rotors. 100% pad dependent

you have to tie back the brake wear sensors. Use zipties covered by aluminum heat tape if you're tracking. Otherwise electrical tape is fine.
- Are the options for pads limited? (From what it looked like to me, only a few pads worked with them..)
no. The front pads are identical to the OEM iron rotor Z06 size. The rear pads are identical to the base model / z51 front size. So pads are widely available.
- Were you able to sell the old components? It would be great to be able to partially fund the change-over by selling the CCB components...
Only component to sell is CCB pads and rotors. If your rotors are shot. Well... But the pads go for about $500 used and in good condition.
- Did you dodge the "my wife is gonna kill me" bullet?
If you can sell the rotors, in good condition, You'll make your money back.

Responses above. You can use a pad like carbotech xp8 if you want a weekend/track pad. Or go to a 2 pad system. Takes 30 mins to swap.

Thanks for the quick reply! The info on the pad sizes/availability especially, as that was the part I was most confused about.

I'm curious if dealerships will install these w/o issue or giving static about installing aftermarket.. while I probably COULD do it myself, I've not done a lot of brake stuff and being able to stop without failure is probably important.

If you’d like a quote and more info on available pad options I can help. Both front and rear pads for this option are available in MANY options from Powerstop to Pagid and Centric and Carbotech.
