2014 C7 Z51 operating temps?
Hi all,
After several lengthy discussions with my selling dealer, I've determined my car is overdue for several major services (i.e. M7 trans fluid change, Diff change, coolant change, etc.) All of which they are refusing to cover so I've already done the trans and diff myself (the diff fluid looked dreadful).
My question here is in the pic below are these normal operating temps for the car? My previous 96 LT4 C4 would routinely run very
high water temps which was normal for a factory setup on that car. My 14 Z51 appears to run a water temp of 220 all day. Traffic, Highway, doesn't make a difference very similar to a 2006 Aston Martin DB9 I previously owned. Once warmed up it would maintain a constant water temp all day.
Also, the top Temp reading that just says "Engine" what exactly is that measuring? Block temp, Cylinder head temp? Just curious. Thanks in advance!

BTW OP, you said they refused to cover.
You expected those services to be covered under warranty?

As the others said this is a bug in the 2014's analog display - it reads 220 once "warm" and just stays there. Drives me crazy read more here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...temp-high.html
The digital read out is the accurate one and mine is always between 185 - 205 (once up to operating temp). 190 - 195 is pretty much its constant average.

No I don't expect services to be warrantable. But I was told at purchase (50,200 mi and 5+ years since in service date) it was fully serviced and ready to roll. Aside from an oil change In the first month I had to do front brakes (pads and rotors), trans and diff service, clutch fluid service and now the coolant all of which was never done. Typical dealer BS.

Temps are normal - actually a little colder than what I see here in the summer.
just so you know the stock thermostat is 207 degrees (97 Celsius). So if you’re under that the thermostat isn’t open.
My ‘14 oil temps will get past 200 on a hot day in Tx. Engine will go to 210 but thats it.
