Default New A8

I brought my 2015 Stingray in to Bayside Chevy in So MD for heater repair. They called me next day to tell me they are replacing my A8 trans under warranty.. The car lurched when put in gear after cold start. Service Mngr Wayne and the mechanics, at Bayside have been taking excellent care of my C7. Great job guys..

I have a 2015 Z-51 A-8 and it has acted strangely on occasion "lurching after a cold start" as well....then all of a sudden the urge goes away after a few weeks...it is bothersome and concerning to me...twice now I have scheduled a service appointment to see what is wrong and it stops the start up and in drive gear selection pattern "lurch/surge" the morning of the appointment! urgggggg....I love the car regardless!!!...

Default Checked on car

Spoke with mechanic today. Ordered new trans. He told me that the 2015's had specific problems so GM will only let them replace trans in that model year. Last summer they did a fluid change and along with the Range devise that solved the problems but then about a month later the surge appeared. He also told me that 2 cars started acting up after the trans replacement, so they took them back in and replaced the computer module. I could have lived with the cod start surge since everything else was OK, but WTF I'll take a new trans.

Blue , I have a 2015 and I have no issues 44,000 miles , but I did have the Cold Start slam and a bit of shift flair on the 1st to 2nd shift which was solved with a clutch relearn

1/2 the time its not the trans , dealers are quick to throw the parts cannon at problems instead of just diagnosing exactly what's wrong, Make sure that they clear the trans adapts and then do each shift "CLUTCH RELEARN" process and the GARAGE relearn

It's great to hear of a positive experience regarding a C7 taken in for service at a Chevy dealer. Thanks for sharing it with us.

There are a lot more positive experiences than there are negative ones. I haven't had an issue with service provided by a GM dealership in over 30 years and then it was only one dealership that sold Oldsmobiles at the time and screwed their VW, Audi, Porsche and Mercedes Customers just as much as they screwed the Olds owners. Their sales/service practices and stupid treatment of their employee eventually drove them out of business a few years after GM closed down the Olds brand.
