Thank you. I can never seem to find exactly what I am looking for when I try to do a search?
Use google to search just this site using the following format:
”term site:www.corvetteforum.com”
remove the quotes and replace term with your search words.
I disconnected the wire harness behind the mirror, very easy to do as the plastic cover just snaps on & off. I did it mostly to get rid of the OnStar lights but it will kill the auto-dim as well. With tinted windows I don’t miss the feature unless some lifted truck is behind me.

If you want to keep your Onstar, and you don't want to put the sticker on your mirror (to block the sensor), you can cut the wire to Pin #1, and add a small jumper wire at the connector, from Pin#1 to Pin #2...then the mirror will never autodim (it thinks the car is in reverse all the time).
So after looking at the wiring to the mirror I found that the original wiring diagram was not accurate. There is no reverse 12 Volt wire on the car side. There is no ignition wire on the mirror side. There must be a data bus transmission for operation. So I took a chance and put a switch on the 12Volt Battery red wire on mirror side of the plug. This does in fact remove power from all functions of the mirror, the Onstar lights, and the auto dimming circuits. Turning power back on restores everything to normal operation. I mounted the switch in the plastic cover.
Below is a corrected diagram.

At least once during every drive I find myself scaring myself into mistaking the blue Onstar light for a cop car behind me. I hate how bright those lights are.

You have several options to address those bright lights:
Black Electrical tape over lights.(Still maintains Auto Dim, Onstar still works just can't see the light.). Cheap.Easy.
A manual mirror from the 1LT. (Onstar Lights - Could be left unplugged.) Cost of mirror. $$
Disconnect the mirror.(lose Auto Dim and Onstar.) Free. Easy.
Install a switch.(Most difficult option involves soldering wires, but can restore full functionality in seconds with Onstar lights and Autodim.) Cost of switch. $

I got the cover off behind the rear view mirror, but how the heck do the plugs disconnect? They don't want to come apart and I don't see any tabs to push.
