Default 416 engine

As I search around for my next mod, Im reseaching the 416 engine for my 2017 GS. Most information Im seeing on the 416 is with a supercharger. Can anyone talk about the 416 without the SC. I now have heads and cam ect. making 520 at the wheels. Would this be a worthwhile? Or am I just wasting money? the car is pretty awesome right now. Opinions please.
P.S.,Ive decided to rule out SCing

On that ci from stock to 416 unless you do a big fuel pump upgrade for the cost of money it will be a waste of money for sure.

I'd pt a ECS supercharger on yours for a fraction of the 416 cost. I am running the ECS supercharger on mine without issues.

You will see a good jump in torque. Also if you have a pretty aggressive cam it will mild out the driving manners a bit. I would totally do it and is what I plan next winter.

With like-for-like mods the 416s make about the same rwhp as the 376s, just comparing dyno results.
But it will make a great deal more torque, somewhere between 50-100rwtq depending on supporting upgrades.

All of this assuming you have the fueling to support it.
If you want more torque go for it, and replace the LT1 bottom end in with forged stuff and you inherit future upgrade options (FI) at the same time. (win-win)

I don't see what use you are intending for the car. Hence, I ll just say that I've been super- and turbocharging street and comp engines for decades. I'm not a fan of bolting on aftermarket SCs to stock NA engines. Consider all the manufactures change when going from NA to boosted. They don't do that because it's cheap or poor engineering. Sure, many get along just fine adding a supercharger to an otherwise stock hi-compression engine. NOT my choice. I vote for the 416 normally aspirated, also just as something different. All the best no matter how you go.

Vengeance Racing has a 416 package... It's expensive.
That kind of power is not cheap.

I just did a Texas Speed 416 (Vengeance uses LME btw for engine builds which I would pick either them or Texas Speed). I upgraded to top of the line parts like billet I-beam rods, CP carillio pistons, dalton sleeves, etc because I am also boosted with an F1A-94 supercharger and stage 3 VR cam. Built to support 1400 wheel. Which is overbuilt. For a fully built 416 or 427 you are around $9500-10k which isn’t cheap. That’s not including the supporting parts like a cam, VVT delete (I would highly suggest the LME BILLET one), lifters, essentially a good valvetrain, larger TB, and ported and polished heads. That $10k just gets you a short block.

I am shooting for 1150-1200 wheel. I am runnning Holley port injection also with a full secondary fuel system to support that power. If I was only sticking to N/A I would go for the 4.125” bore aka 427ci. 416’s are just a little stronger bore size for big boost and power.

LME built an 800hp N/A gen V LT1 440ci this would be sick for a track car. https://www.enginelabs.com/news/buil...-lt1-with-lme/

Don’t forget install pricing unless you can do yourself. Ant aka FRYANT has some great tutorials on here for engine swaps, etc.
