I went from 19 x 10 and 20 x 12 with tires sizes of 285/30 19 and 335/25 20 to 18 x 8 and 18 x 12 with tires 275/35 18 and 335/30 18. It seems t
like the rear brakes are acting funny when at high speeds on a run. Has anyone experienced this?
only relative size matters. Calculate your ratio of rear to front tire diameter. it should be close to 1.03. If its too far from that - less than 1.01 or more than 1.05 then that's your issue. (i made up that range BTW, it could trigger ice mode at 1.04 too)
Traction control will activate if tire sizes make the rear tires seem to be spinning faster in relationship to the front than what you would have for the stock ratio.
Stabilitrack activates when the steering wheel is turning and the yaw angle of the car doesn't turn as fast as it should for the steering wheel angle (understeer) or if the yaw of the car changes faster than the steering angle of the steering wheel (oversteer). Understeer is counteracted by applying the inside rear brake while oversteer is counteracted by applying the outside front brake. Stabilitrack doesn't give a damn what the tire ratio is when deciding to activate. Activation is all based on steering angle, yaw rate and lateral Gs being experienced. If your steering wheel is off center by a lot when driving straight down the road Stabilitrack can interpret the lack of yaw response as understeer and apply a rear brake to correct the perceived steering angle/yaw discrepancy. The closer the steering angle is to zero when the car is driving straight the better. If your steering wheel is pointed straight ahead when you are driving down a straight road Stabiltrack won't activate.

Are your front wheels really 18x8? that is too narrow for a 275/35 tire.
