Well in both those modes if you go WOT they'll open, I don't think they'll open in the Stealth mode. If I'm drag racing or logging a tune I'll open the valves and put it in track mode. Its plenty loud for me.

In Track Mode the exhaust valve is open all the time except under the following conditions:
1) Engine operating in 4 cylinder mode, this applies to both M7 and A8 cars. It especially affects A8 cars since they have the potential to switch to 4 cylinder mode in all drive modes (including Track Mode) except when the transmission is operated in Manual mode.
2) M7 cars operating at less than 1500 rpm in 5th Gear.
I never use Sport (I find it uninteresting) so can't say for sure what happens in that mode.
I used the Engine Sound Management Settings to set my exhaust to Track Mode no matter what Drive Mode I am in. After 4 seasons of HPDE operation, the exhaust is loud in Track Mode. Mildly loud when operating at low rpm and low throttle opening while driving around town but roaring loud when the pedal is to the floor. It won't win a loudness award for a throttle winging contest in a parking lot but where it counts at wide open, full load operation it is loud. I have independent confirmation of that from people that I have passed while on track coming up to me afterwards in the paddock and saying it is LOUD.
