AC blows hot is stopped traffic
2014 Corvette w/ 15k miles. While stuck in slow stop and go traffic on the expressway, in extremely hot weather conditions, my AC began to blow warm. I noticed my engine temperature rising, so I shut off the AC, hoping that would help. As we began to move along, the engine temp began to lower and went to normal. While getting up to cruising speed, I turned the AC on and it blew cold. Over the past several days, the AC has been blowing cold and the engine temp is normal. BUT I have not been in that situation since. Any ideas? Is there a separate AC cooling fan? How will someone be able to diagnose the issue if it's now working properly?
Definitely not normal. The AC should blow cold even in stop and go traffic. I would have a good AC guy put a set of gauges on your AC to check it out.
The fan will run on max when the AC is on. AC off, the computer will control the fan speed based on temp, speed and a number of other variables.
There are many threads here on lowering engine temps, but that is not your AC's problem.

I had a similar issue - noticed the AC blowing warm while stopped in 105 degree heat and saw the temp rising. While driving the AC worked and temps dropped down but was still warmer than usual.
I got home, left the car running, and opened the hood. The radiator cooling fan was not running. Surprised I didn't notice since it is normally very loud. Took it to my mechanic and the fan was diagnosed as bad. Replacement fan is working great and the AC blows cold again.
I hope you get it sorted soon!

Good luck getting the car diagnosed and fixed. One thing you do need is a good A/C system when it is this hot.
There is a known problem with 14's over heating in stop and go traffic due to the cooling fan not coming on. I had tis happen to me in June in a traffic jam around Hartford. My a/c shutoff and I had a message on the dash that it shut off due to engine overheating. My temp gauge was pegged at 260*. I pulled over and popped the hood to see if the belt had broken or any other obvious problem. But saw nothing. Traffic started moving so I started up and once I got up to speed everything called back down.
I believe there was a TSB on this issue and the solution was to replace the fan with a Z06 fan, which I have done and have not had an issue......yet
I was told the TSB stated the problem as 'highway speed driving to a stop and go situation in which the fan fails to come on', which is exactly what happened to me, but it was weird that in the 3 previous summers I never had it happen, but I don't remember being stuck in traffic like that, for over 1/2 hour.

If this is intermittent someone will not be able to diagnose your concern….no separate AC fan…sounds like a cooling fan issue since this is intermittent…if clogged condenser it would not be intermittent.
