I've got an oil leak on my 2014 Z51 w/51k miles and it's coming from behind the harmonic balancer. It looks like they have to drop the subframe as the steering rack is right in front of the bolt for the harmonic balancer.
Does anyone know how much it would cost to get a front main seal replaced at the dealer?
I think it will vary considerably from place to place, town to town, so you're probably better off finding out who you can trust and just getting an estimate.
Something else to consider is the belt tensioner on these is a small oil damped shock that is prone to leaks. It can fool the untrained eye into thinking its a front seal leak due to its proximity to the crank pulley.

I replaced the idler pully as I thought that was the original culprit. I cleaned up the whole area really good and it's just slowly seeping out. Not enough to be concerned right now but something I want to get done eventually. Definitely coming from behind the harmonic balancer.
It's not too bad to replace it urself. Just gotta remove the steering rack or pull it back into the remove the balancer. I would go with a LS main seal the LT's are trash.
I am not sure how to do this but I'd want to check your pcv system before taking the front of the engine apart. If the crankcase is getting into a slight pressure vs vacuum situation that can cause a leak at a seal.
Don't need to drop the sub frame to remove the balance just have to unbolt the rack. I did slide my rack out when I installed my IW balancer to be able to fit the puller.
