Default Track issues c7 gs

I have a 2017 grand sport with the 8sp auto. Bone stock powertrain just stage 3 aero upgraded wheels tires and brake pads and fluids. It’s a weekend toy and a track car. I do 5-10 track days a year. But I’m having some annoying issues:

while at the glen in 75 degree weather and while it never overheated it got very hot. Both oil and coolant were one line off red. This is in the setting of manually shifting because the a8 shift logic sucks on track. Oh, and for those that ask about skill level at the glen I run high 2 teens. Not exceptionally fast but I’m not a noob either.

issue two was at thunderbolt this past weekend (where I Was running 133s) and started to get engine protection, upshift when possible warnings. They would disappear when in auto after 10-15 seconds or in manual would start upshifting me directly. It happened every session, mostly around the condos and octopus. From reading this seems to be a potential oil starvation issue on wet sump base cars but my gs is a dry sump so why would that be happening? More importantly how do I fix it??

thank you all in advance for any thoughts and advice. Oh, and pic included just for fun

Re: Temps....Sounds like a failed thermostat. Not unusual.

Regarding the upshift issue....be sure to properly check the oil level. After that it starts to get more complicated.

GS is a great car on track

I have a 2017 GS Auto. This is my 3rd C7 that I've tracked. With stock cooling it ran very hot, easily getting up to 240F water, 295F oil. The GS automatic does not have the Auxiliary radiator, as the location is used for the transmission cooler.
I traded out the main radiator for the thicker OEM radiator that came stock on the 2019 Z06 auto. I also went to a higher percentage of water, now about 85% water/15% coolant. This definitely helped. Last track day I ran 225F water/271F oil. It was in cooler ambient temps though, down near 80F(Florida cool)

There's a great thread by @X25 for the process of changing the radiator out. There are also other thicker radiators available.

First, apart from the marketing hype, these things are not race cars. So, are these recent, meaning new, issues for this particular car all different than you've seen before? Can you discern anything else changing of late, apart from a possibly bad thermostat?

(btw, an addendum if not mentioned previously... an "Advanced search" across the C7 Forums should find quite a lot of threads relevant to tracking our cars, often problems in doing so)
