Of course, as long as it meets Dexos1 specs

Amazon, that's where I've been getting mine.

I've been able to buy it by the quart from Autozone or Chevrolet dealerships. No extras.

Napa and Kirkland 0 W 40 Dexos 1, or 5 W 40 Dexos 1.

Any reason/s why not to use in LT1 C7s?

Their cost is significantly less, compared to the Mobil 1 Dexos 1....

What spec are you looking for? 0W-40 or 5w30?

DexosR is the most current oil specifically designed for the GM high performance engines.

INFO:
"The current Dexos 0W-40 version for high-performance engines is dexosR, a specific standard for GM's performance vehicles, not a general 0W-40 version."

Not as readily available, more expensive and all we know is that "it is gooder than 5W30." and nothing really substantially quantifiable.

Come spring I should be having a lab report to compare to the 0W-40 and hopefully, by then, someone has something besides "it is gooder because I said so.".

I bought bunch of 5w-30. Not putting 0w-40 for 5 times the cost if I'm not tracking. Just warm it up. It has a dry sump. You don't need oil that thick in my opinion.

IDK how much driving I will get done since I can't drive unless the temps are over 40 but if I get the mileage on the 5W-30 I will change it before shutdown so I will know the lab results and be able to compare it to 0W-40 and see if there is enough improvement to justify the cost. Currently, I know the 0W-40 is good for 6000 miles so I am looking forward to seeing what the 5W-30 is good for. If the difference isn't significant, I would not advise spending more because "Nothing is too good for my baby". I can quantify the cost. What I have not seen is quantification of the benefit besides "it is gooder".

True but do you trust Walmart branded stuff for quality consistency day in and day out? I shop there but I don't buy their store branded stuff whether it is furniture, meat, etc. I have not been able to testify to many of their store branded items for quality.

Walmart also makes good oil filters. If it screws on to the engine, it will be ok.

What makes it good? Just that it screws on? I find it hard to put "good" and "Walmart" in the same sentence when I am talking about consistency and quality. Price, absolutely. I'm not brave enough to buy anything from Wal-Mart that is branded in house. I will be willing to recommend it to someone I hate.

Unless you can controvert the quality and specs of Walmart approved oil, or ANY other products they sell, you've got nothing to base your false assumptions upon.

I have bought many of their house brand products. They all have 2 things in common. The item is cheaper than a name brand item and they are always wanting, quality wise. They have almost always been made poorly and they don't last quite as long. So is it your contention that I can save money with the WalMart house brand AND have the same or better longevity? THAT would be cool and perhaps I am shopping at a knockoff WalMart?
