Hi there,

Thanks for the question. The main difference between the two is that the SE8223-80 was ported more aggressively and flowed a bit more than the SE8223-40.

If you have any other questions or concers please let us know. Always happy to help!

I buy first and ask questions later...

It ended up being a SE8223-40 which I now hope will be perfect, for my 2017 M7 GrandSport with GM CAI and AWE X-pipe

You’re all good. The -80 version was intended for the C7 Z06 anyway, so the SE8223-40 you picked up is the correct and perfect choice for your 2017 M7 Grand Sport with the GM CAI and AWE X-pipe. It’ll work great on your setup.

Once you move past intake and exhaust, airflow starts to matter more.
Our 95mm throttle body pairs well with ported manifolds and other bolt-on upgrades, helping maintain throttle response without becoming a restriction.

Regarding the 92mm Billet TB vs 95+ MM Premium Modified. Are there any benefits over your "95+ MM Premium Modified, Ported and Calibrated Throttle Body" model other than the 92mm being billet?

Good question. The main difference isn’t just that the 92mm is billet, it’s also about size, airflow, and how the part fits into your overall setup.

The 95mm flows more than the 92mm:
  • 92mm: ~1200 SCFM @ 20.4" (about a 20% increase over OEM)
  • 95mm: ~1300 SCFM @ 20.4" (about a 34% increase over the 87mm OEM)
That said, fitment and supporting mods matter. The 92mm is a direct bolt-on for a stock intake manifold, so it’s a simple upgrade with no additional parts required.

The 95mm, on the other hand, typically requires an adapter to work with a stock manifold. On C7s specifically, it also won’t work with the OEM cold air intake. So it’s better suited for setups that already have supporting modifications.

In practical terms:
  • If you’re staying stock or lightly modified, the 92mm is the better fit. It’s straightforward, effective, and doesn’t require additional changes.
  • If you’re building a more modified setup and can support the extra airflow, the 95mm offers more headroom and higher potential gains.
It really comes down to your current setup and how far you plan to take it.

Hey everyone, putting together a quick Soler Throttle Controller FAQ to help answer some questions we’ve been getting. Hope these answers will save you some time.

• Does the display have a lock mode?
No. Once paired through Bluetooth, you can remove the display and keep it in the glovebox or at home if preferred.

• Does the controller need calibration or update recovery?
No. It’s plug-and-play and works with the factory system automatically, including with other bolt-on mods.

• Can I unplug the display while the car is on?
No. Only disconnect or reconnect the display with the vehicle fully off and in sleep mode.

• Does the controller itself have to stay installed for the app to work?
Yes. The controller must remain installed and powered on. Only the display can be removed.

• Can the controller/wiring be hidden?
Absolutely. Most customers tuck everything behind dash panels or carpet trim.

• Does my phone need to be near the car for Bluetooth?
Yes. You’ll need to be inside the vehicle with it powered on.

• Where do I find the 4-digit pairing code?
With the display installed:
Hold both buttons on the display and the code will appear.
Without the display:
Use the last 4 digits of the serial number on the silver sticker located on the small black box near the pedal assembly.

• The app won’t connect after denying Bluetooth permissions. Fix?
Delete the app, reinstall it, restart your phone, and make sure Bluetooth permissions are allowed during setup.

• Will current controllers work on the upcoming 2027 C8 Grand Sport?
We recommend holding onto your current DLX controller for now. We haven’t fully tested the new Grand Sport yet, but compatibility is very likely.

• Does the controller override factory drive modes?
No. Tour, Sport, Track, etc. still function normally. The Soler controller operates independently and adjusts throttle sensitivity separately through the display or app.

• Can multiple phones pair to the controller?
Yes. Multiple phones can pair, and it’ll connect to whichever phone opens the app first while in the vehicle.
