Chevrolet is licencing this software and when it is combined with the cameras and connected to the appropriate modules you will be looking at $2-3K. You will probably have to get the Z07 package so when all is said and done you'll be right up there. Guaranteed not to be cheap.

yeah u might be right.
remarks saying that the refresh seems slow that would be horrible on their part ...i mean jeeze....using the latest and greatest on the Z and then to use a slow processor for the data recorder? that just seems silly...we will see..

It would be great if you could set it to record whenever the car is started, so if you leave it for service or valet park the car, you will know how they treated it.

It's a cool option, but I thought the video frame rate, compression and overall video quality looked subpar, too. It's jerky and lacks detail. Don't know if 720p is the highest resolution available, but that's all that is available on YouTube for viewing. If you are trying to get quality track video, it didn't seem like the best way to do it, unfortunately.

....and we might as well come to terms with it...

What we saw is what we will be getting (99.8% sure).

I thought the black box was bad enough but now a data logger. Insurance companies will love this. Between Onstar, the black box, and this logger we will be driving one big liability w/ evidence of any mistake you make. Please keep righteous remarks of "if your not doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about". Those people should be driving a toyota Camry. This is a performance car and i think the option is great, but as an American with rights I would never give evidence against myself. My friend is an investigator and he regularly puts in for onstar subpoenas and plugs into the black box. Getting scary how your own car is used against you.

The dealer will love that you have that option on your car when you take it in for warranty work.
