Default Drag radials

Impressive (to me, at least) is how much faster it ran that the GT-R's there last night. 5-6 mph faster than a stock DBA car same day, same track is pretty strong.

Except the Z06 was on drag radials. Stock cars with same tires should be interesting.

With shorter stock tires, might it be worthwhile to pull the shifter back to Manual after the auto shift to 4? Rationale is that the Auto mode seems programmed to shift short of redline, (Stingray's shift a bit short also I believe) so going to manual after shift to 4th might eliminate a shift to 5th shortly before finish line.

Just thinking out loud.

Yep...and they are a 28" tire, so he likely lost some trap speed with the gearing loss.

Default Well then now!

That answers that!

(E85 for the summer and an air cleaner (out of fuel) minus the warranty and this ships sailed!)

You're absolutely right. There will always be discussions between a8 & m7, but if you want to go fast, you need the A8.

I am not so sure. From that video, it looks like he rolled into the throttle. ET aside, I am looking at trap speeds and that is a pretty big delta. To run within 1 mph of that modded DBA car is pretty impressive as it is pretty quick.

Sean so based on that run would you say its definitely possible that once its broken in 130mph traps are possible.

Looking at the video very closely. Notice on the launch the car goes to 3000 rpm then hesitates a split second the goes again. Maybe traction catching up with engine? Also notice how the speeds slow just prior to shifts. Maybe all this is being to critical or its being safe on its self. I just know we have not seen the best of this yet. But as of today the M7 car on stock tires is still the quickest.

I think they will run over 130 mph pretty easily.

Easiest way to trap over 130 mph is go to PBIR and run in left lane! That run by Jason427 would be over 130 mph there. I believe his run is a true 128.8 mph which is very impressive.

Sorry, couldn't resist!

I have owned manuals, liked them, and will miss them. They really do add a dimension to the driving experience. For a combination of health, convenience, and, yes, performance reasons, my Z06 is ordered with an A8.

MIR, ATCO, Cecil County Md. or even Capital Raceway Bowie Md......probably get the fastest times.

Impressive times for sure! There is quite a bit left in the car too it seems. A8 seems to be the ticket with these cars.

Congrats to the op for a ten second run , the more of those put in the books the better .

but to all the automatic guys beating their chests and claiming the automatic is the only way to go . I have to point out that we have a faster time then this with a manual car on STOCK TIRES . both drivers having hardly anytime in their cars and yes that 60' hook on the manual car may have been a result of perfect circumstances but put the m& hs on the manual car and your gonna get great launches everytime .

Would have been interesting to see what this car would turn with the stock tires and have to keep in mind its cold out in florida right now and that's always good for mph .

will the automatic be the easier more consistent car to drive with average skills of course but so far it doesnt look like its gonna destroy the manuals .

Not to take anything away from OP congrats on car and ten second run !!! but our manual cars aren't crawling away in shame either .

I left the line easy and first pass was still in the 10's

Issues delayed second pass but heated tires up good and I noticed the Honda in front of me spewed water out... So they were mopping it up. I was afraid to flash converter and really nail it so AGAIN I did just a nice smooth roll into throttle.

I think the car has a lot left in it. Almost 129mph! I am pleased with that. Will go back friday, then next Friday for a private rental.

Nice job first time out!
Pretty interesting how it compares to your first time out, at the same track, in the ZR1.
So who is going to step up and be the mod for the fast list?

Yes, I think Manual cars will be just as fast, if not faster. BUT there is only a very small percentage of US that can drive a manual ZR1/Z06 to maximum potential. I ran 10.69 in my ZR1 with 300 miles on it. I don't think anyone has beaten that time at a FL track especially at Orlando Spinworld!

I will know more after another trip to the track.

Thanks,
Jason
