C7 Z06 vs C6 ZR1 half mile race

I'm sure the z06 would rack up more wins than the Zr1 would so yes. It would take a damn good driver in the Zr1 to even have a chance against an A8 Z06 in track/auto mode in a quarter mile race. I know two zr1 owners myself from nj and they couldn't even drive their car half as well as it would take to get the W. I'm sure there are some great drivers on this forum but I'm also sure alot probably THINK their skill is higher than it is lol smart money would be on the A8 Z everytime.

So now it's the drivers fault?
The ZR1 in the video was essentially stock (catback exhaust adds no hp, and an intake is worth virtually nothing without tuning since air is translated to boost and boost is regulated by the pcm)
Show me the fastest stock C7Z trap speed and I'll show you a faster ZR1 trap speed.

The ZR1 does trap 1-2 mph higher than the C7Z. But, you asked stock vs stock, which includes stock tires right? No way a stock ZR1 on stock tires will cut 1.4 - 1.5 60' times to match the A8 Z06. Just not possible. The trap speeds are close enough that 60' means the most here.

Thanks for posting.
I think we all need to remember that there are guys with faster and slower times that are not even posting on this forum.
I would like to remind everyone that the same goes for the cooling issues of the car. There are a lot of guys I know that do not post on this forum that have experienced cooling issues and had to park their car after a few laps at Road America (It happened at most events).
So while we can all look to the fast list and appreciate it is there - There are guys that have faster times than what is posted (As well as slower)...

Listen I like both cars and I'm not getting into a pissing match here. All I am simply saying is I think it's much easier and more consistent for an A8 Z06 to run faster times. If I was at the track and saw those two cars line up not knowing the drivers it's more reasonable to think the z06 is usually going to take that race.

Scraping the splitter.
That was probably having KR or issues relative to the radiator hose being close to the MAF.
All stock...

10.4 at 132 bone stock on stock PSC2 at Atco

And the A8's have been out since Feb/Mar.
The excuses this fall/winter will be epic. I'm sure there will be lots of tire excuses.

First line is an excuse and then ends with excuses this fall will be epic
So which car did I post that was on a MPSS or PSC2?

Enough with excuses, and enough of the pissing contest...Both cars are great.
But as of right now, stock for stock on stock tires, the fastest "known" C7Z time is faster than the fastest "known" ZR1 time, PERIOD.
10.42 = C7Z
10.66 = ZR1
Are you finished yet? That's the simple answer to your simple question. Can we move on?

Currently, the A8 Z06 has a faster stock tire time of 10.42 vs 10.66 for the ZR1. For drag radial only the ZR1 has the better time of 10.26 vs 10.38 for the A8 Z06 (which I think had front skinnies on for that run).
The biggest difference between the A8 Z06 and the ZR1 on a stock tire is the 60' time. The best I have seen on the ZR1 is 1.68 while the A8 z06 has done a 1.58.

The two things I'd like to point out is one - those C6ZR1 drivers are GREAT at what they do, driving an M6 and running those times. The difference between the two is easily explained by the A8 vs. M6, so something to remember. On the street, in any sort of roll racing, these cars would be dead even with each other up to a certain MPH.
Second thing is that both cars are worthy of praise in the performance category. I mean, the new Z06 was clearly inspired by the ZR1, so it shouldn't surprise us that it appears to be a modern version of the ZR1 in both tech and fit n' finish. Ultimately the approach is still the same = increase usable power.
I mean, if we're all about measuring our cars' ***** then we should also drag into the conversation what the C6Z w/ Bolt-on's only can do All of these cars are truly amazing...

Nurburgring ZR1
7:38 On PSZP and no cage or telemetry equipment
7:19 On PSC with cage and telemetry equipment aka 150-300lbs added weight
Oh this was also done in June so in the heat.
Put on PSZP on an auto C7Z and show me when it can run that 10.4 again
You can't bend the rules of physics. Mph is indicative of hp and 5th gear sucks in the auto car. Cool it's fast in the quarter with any brainless person behind the wheel. Sorry but I have an appreciation for the talent and skill that a driver has when they are actually driving the car and it's not just a point and shoot car.

Pilot Sport Cups (1 and 2) are both horrible at the drag strip. Have you ever owned a set of either? They are awful for drag racing. Rock hard in the cold weather.
