I received the NCM email news letter today and they announced that registration is open for the Bash.
Among the list of activities at the Bash it said "Jim Mero will be leading a seminar on driving the Nurburgring"
Is it possible a Ring time will finally be revealed here?
I don't think so, but it'll likely be the same move he pulled with the Stingray at the bash with the VIR time. He'll say, "so the question everyone wants to know is, what time did it run at Nurburgring...well it was a 7:xx.xxx!!"
I like listening to Mero's talks though...he goes into a lot of info...good times.
Thinking about it, if there were some legal reason GM cannot 'publish' the time, mentioning it in a seminar at the BASH without actually printing it anywhere is a pretty good way of giving it to the owners and not get in legal troubles.

They set the Ring time, based on Tadge's comments, well before the track restrictions were put in place. Given that, I sure hope there are not legal restrictions, as it would seem they would be on GM's part and not the track's part.
It's better that we just believe GM is not going to release the time for their own internal odd reasons.

GM has been busting ***** for so long with this they have to be looking at finally doing it right; all things considered Mero is probably just going to be warming everyone up for what Milner did with his dialed in setup.

Why do you care so much about a car you don't own?
Just because some of us don't own the latest Z06 doesn't mean we are not interested in it and what it can do (or has done but GM won't report on it).
Just because I believe my C6 Z06 has guide problems that the factory chooses to ignore does not mean that I don't appreciate everything else it can do (and has done).

I see what you did there. Now everything came together. Oh well...
I don't think he is clueless. The truth is nobody outside of GM knows. It is possible that the time is slower than the C6 ZR1. It's unlikely but possible. I would guess there is a 75% chance that the C7 Z06 Z07 is faster than the C6 ZR1.I am certainly watching this lap time intrigue with great interest. I'm still not sure that I consider the Z06 to be an altogether better car than the outgoing ZR1. I'm torn over which one to buy. I very nearly bought a C7 Z06 last week, but I am still on the fence. It's going to be one or the other very soon. I miss my 2007 Corvette.
I would say if you don't think that there is at least a very slight chance that the old ZR1 is faster you haven't been paying attention.
