Don't believe it to be an age thing.. I'm 63 (hmmm, maybe I should go with the "younger guy" thing.. LOL) so guess I fall into the "not all" bracket.
To me it was the look with DSOM. Every Corvette I've had prior to this one I had chrome on, and I LOVED it (especially the two JSB's) but when it came to DSOM, black was the decision.
Before I ordered the Z, I did the GM build website with every combination of wheel color and then changed out the mirrors/stingers/brakes etc. In the end, it's what you see as I really think it makes DSOM one beastly looking Corvette, especially with all the other black options.
They all look great, what can you say.. their CORVETTES!!!!

The question of age here prooved that the "mature" generations can appreciate the gorgeous blacked out rims and that the younger generations can choose to go with...ho hum raw aluminum and body color side view mirrors.
