DuvalVette, FWIW this is exactly how I bought my C6 ZR1. Already had a C6 coupe (LS3). Didn't need to test drive anything.
Just opened the hood, started the engine, and listened. Was a goner instantly...
Find the exact car you want, negotiate the best deal/terms you are comfortable with, and go for it ! GLWP !

Are the new 75k Z06's next to the new 50k Ferrari's? If you're looking to get something around 70k you are going to need to find a good deal on a '15 with maybe 7 to 8k miles.
As to being worth it... it's a different animal from even my modified 600hp C6.. it's so much better.. instant power.. tremendous grip and handling... I love mine... it is the first vehicle I have ever purchased thwt will stay stock...

OP since you are in finance you will get this. Shop used! There are so many low milage used Zs out there that are competing with the discounts on 16s that they are almost FREE!!!
As an example my 70 y/o friend just traded his 15 low mileage Z for a base car, he was scared of the Z.
The smart Corvette buyer always shops used!
I'm not smart and do accounting so I am torn about the stupid decision to eat depreciation!

a throw away or finance restricted? ok with buying used but a supercar when money isn't the restricting factor? for me it's a no brainer..
prime example: i know of a low low LOW mileage C7Z which was tracked and owner wanted out of it for a new GS due to overheating which it did several times that can be had for $75k or so (MSRP of $110k). car had full xpel and original wheels tires were take offs and now back on..
imagine the poor fool who buys that with all the replacement interior panels installed etc?
enjoy used supercar
