Do you miss your C5?

When I picked up my 04 C5Z from Kerbeck, I kept my 1991 original owner 5.7 Formula--never drove it except for maintenance or repairs. This time passed on my C5Z shortly after bringing the C7Z home. No regrets, however still like the looks of a FRC C5Z, even with a MR interior.

Sell it. You won't drive it. Trust me.
I tried having 2 "toys". The new, better, faster, more reliable toy was always driven more. While the other car sat looking sad. Like someone said you'll only get in, to start it, and maybe drive it to get mcdonalds and to get gas and take it right back home. All out of guilt. You'll put 1000 miles on it a year, maybe even less.
Sell it now while the weather is good.
And enjoy the new, better, faster beast.

Those are a beautiful collection of cars. And i am jealous.
But not everyone is the same. I would love to have kept my 2012 GS and i would have loved to add an FRC with it, along with my 2016 Z. I'll have a fixed smile on my face forever lol.
But my Z is a weekend car, well any toy i ever had were weekend cars. And i have a daily driver and a motorcycle.
Having that many "toys" is not practical to most. For me it wasn't. If i only drive my toy on the weekend, imagine having another one? Or 2 more? That's 3 cars to drive on the weekend, when there's only 2 days. And some people don't drive in the rain. I sometimes don't unless i'm caught in it lol.
So there's too many variables and the days allowed vs preference on driving many toys on selective days doesn't justify owning more than 1 toy for the weekend.
But that's IMO.

How much can you get a decent C5 Z for nowadays? Never owned a vette in my life!

19,000 to 26,000 depending on year, condition, miles. I passed on a nice 23,000 mile 02 Z06 in Electron Blue last week for $22,000. Car was like new but I have a full house. They are light, agile and fast. Fun cars to drive and alot of bang for the buck.

C5's are where I started loving vettes, I won't ever be able to afford a C6 Z or C7 Z anytime soon unless they all fall under 20k, lol. But I really would want a C5 Z someday. Just picked up a Silverado HC, so I can't finance a Z right now.

Yes, I meant to post this in the C7 Z06 forum.
I have a 2004. Black/black, 6 spd, glass top, 16k miles. I really like this car. Fun, no issues ever, still love the styling. I have a C7 Z06 coming in the next couple weeks. I was thinking of keeping the C5 because it's probably not depreciating much anymore, but having 2 Corvettes and a Daily Driver will be hard to justify.
Anyone here have a Z06 and ever miss their C5? I will save a few bucks ditching it, but I wonder if I will regret selling it down the road. Curious to hear your thoughts.

We take them to the Drag strip when schedules and time permits.
I like driving them both but prefer my Z06 for all the obvious reasons.
If you can share the C5 and/ or use it as it was intended then by all means keep it. If you find yourself bypassing it for the C7 then consider selling it to someone who will appreciate it and use it as intended.
That's my 2 cents.

Cranked a little bit longer than normal but I guess that's a result of sitting 6 months.

I miss it because it was my first Corvette, my daily driver best friend for 15 years, and modded/personalized. That said, I don't miss the driving experience compared to the newer tech.

Though not a C5, I had the C6 when I purchased my C7Z. Being paid off, I thought I would just keep it until one day my wife and I were talking about having both Vettes. She said "Jeffrey, when you open up the garage and see both Vettes sitting there and you are deciding which one to take, which will it be. There was really no debate in my mind - I am taking the new C7Z". I kept the C6 a few more months and decided to sell it after spending more time keeping the batteries charged than driving it. That's when I realized it was a waste to let it sit there (paid or not paid off). Maybe if the C6 was a custom one of a kind show piece or special edition I would have kept it, but it was not.

I had four cars for two drivers, and sold the C5 this year after owning it for 15 years and 35000 miles. The car was always good to me, but just sat for months at a time. It was a thrilling sound every time the Heads/Cam/Intake LS1 started up. It was very different from my other toys. Now its time for something newer.
So many great muscle cars on the market now if you don't stay with a brand.

I had a 2000 C5 & drove it almost 80K miles, thought I would miss it, but as soon as I drove my C7 Z06, was time for the C5 to go to a new home, and it found a new owner quickly, have never looked back. The C7 is awesome, can't imagine what the C8 will be like.

Yes I miss my C5. It was my first Corvette never thought I'd have another. Had it 13 years. It had the ABMS issue and even with that I should have kept it. But its a semimetal attachment per the above. Plus garage space is limited.
Funny its in the area and I hope to snag it back someday.
It all in ones own eye but I think it is a sharp car. And C5 really advanced Corvette to what it is today.
