The issue is being properly investigated and, again, I predict a good outcome for the OP. GM has the responsibility to correct a miamatched paint situation. This looks like what should be a pretty cut and dried issue. Stay tuned.
Kevin, did you see this post by Jeremy?????
Aside from JVP, Jeremy is the most well connected person to GM around. If he says it is being investigated and a good outcome will happen....TRUST HIM!
All you other guys, the sky is NOT falling....go look outside....and Keep Calm.

Yes, but did not know he was connected to GM...this definitely makes me feel better.. I haven’t even driven my car since a got home Sunday with it.. I didn’t want anymore miles on it until this was finished being investigated.. 😭😭😭
Ooph. I'm at Carlisle for 20 minutes and see this off the bat...
they are all off. I'll keep posting as I go.
Not even close
The metallic flake is so different it's disturbing honestly. Much more flake in the hood and a tinge browner than rest of car. I have video ill upload and link to show rral world i hope the phone camera picked up on it. And i saw an orange ZR1 with a pencil eraser size concave dip on the front bumper to the right of the flag emblem. Omg that would drive me insane.
See if it's just the hoods with carbon fiber weave insert that are badly mismatched.
I believe those who order that option have their hoods painted outside of the factory so maybe that's why they are coming out so poorly (like my roof with visible cf option).
I emailed the quality control Mgr at the corvette plant, plus got his phone number... going to call at 9am today to see what he has to say about this...
Shouldn't the salesman with all the connections be doing this for you??

that's what I'm doing.
look at this video.
I will post everyone I come across as long as the hood is down which is tough here lol.
OP. I would try and have a new one from supplier more closely matched installed. But know that you are NOT alone with that issue. I'm betting any metallic color is as bad if not worse.
this car in the video is horrific imo. Video doesn't eve. Really show it I'm telling you..
not a huge difference in your vid. The hood to the fenders is what you should be comparing, noses are different by a small fraction on most cars. Plus you might have noses that have already been reshot from parking curbs/bugs, etc. Light is all that i see, reflecting from the sun, that hood matches the fenders fine.
Mike with all due respect I have yet to see you post in any thread and not stir the pot.
And the video is Clear. Your opinion not withstanding.
the fenders and bumper match. The hood does not. Too much brown tint and the metallic is super heavy it reflects in the light much more than the bumper and fenders. Look at the other video before that one more angles.
I only took that second video because when I walked to the passenger side the light hit it right and it was very noticeable from that angle.
it is clear that the supplier is painting the goods and rails of the roofs but not matching exactly the formula or technique etc that the plant does. Probably impossible but they should get the tint or shading closer.
the video is clear, you say there is a huge difference between the hood and the rest of the car, and i dont see it at all. OP's black hood, i see it. This gray car, i dont see it.
One could say that you telling him ALL vettes have this problem and his hood is normal, is "stirring the pot".
The man needs a new hood. The video above being evidence it is NORMAL is NOT even close to accurate.
Sorry for "stirring your pot" and saying i disagree with your eyesight and thus your opinion. The front nose is in the sun, it is a steeper angle. Of course it will be brighter. It has metallic in the paint.
At first i thought your video was being sarcastic, and i was laughing along with you... until i realized you are serious and think those panels are different color and cant understand sun reflection and panel angle.

The painted hoods with carbon insert looks too busy to me when used next to the carbon flash colored vent. Not really crazy on any carbon fiber outside as in not seeing the following. Carbon flash stinger looks better The mismatch hood is bad too! Glad my WGG all matches all has beautiful metal flake that pops in the sun.
ok, so lets say you guys are right, and the cars are all different colors, does that mean the OP's car should not be fixed and GM is off the hook?
Talk about pointless posts.
There are plenty of matching black cars out there, every z06 one ive seen in fact, in black, matches.
I guess the OP should just be happy, since he is not the only car on earth with 2 different colors. GM is doing a great job and did well on his car. Topic closed.
Boy I should never BUT. Looking at pics above, particularly post #116 with the paint circled I have this to say. I see absolutely no difference between the hood & the left (right side of pic) fender which are in exactly the same light. In the circle there is a very bright reflection on the nose but MUCH less on the hood. Look at the left side of the pic of the paint running frt to rear beside the stinger & notice how that part looks carbon flash black, totally different than any area elsewhere on the front of the car. We have all seen & some argued till blue in the face (as here) about how pics will never give an absolute color representation. 16/C7Z is the only one who was there so I will take him for his word that it is different. To the OP, I have no answer but do hope you get satisfaction. You may not because if someone from GM who you have been dealing with sees this, they may not own up to being responsible since SO MANY OTHERS have now chimed in saying their carbon fiber exposed hoods don't match either & GM may fear a MASS uproar with everyone wanting a new hood. OH HELL, PROBABLY ANOTHER CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!

yeah. Just like the OP car in his delivery thread. Look at it. Just click his screen name and look at his pics
Hood and bumper on same plane. Not same color. To me and my body guy who has no idea aviut this issue on these cars yet
In the vid I couldn't see it.. thought I'm going blind lol.. But this picture I can see clearly the hood is darker than the bumper. Damn, I always wanted the CF hood insert.. if they're all like that, thankfully I don't have the CF insert. Wow.
Had you gone further to your left the hood would have went bright and the nose dark
Good lord you are now using a shot of glare to hide the defect. The colors in first shot clearly do not match not only in color shade but the metallic is smaller on the hood. I can see the that from the picture. i'll go with your opinion is not with standing.
